We went for the New World cuisine chef's table experience. The restaurant hosts one table of ten on limited evenings each month where guests sit at a three sided counter bar table and enjoy a 5 course meal with paired wines. The hosts are a wine sommelier and chef from Barbara Lynch's Grupo of restaurants who explain the selection and pairing of the wine and food courses as well as demo preparation of some courses. They are knowledgeable and entertaining hosts. As they said at beginning of meal, you may not know all the guests at the beginning but you will be friends by the end. Such was the case. We all had great time and learned so much from the hosts. The food was incredible and selection of wines perfect. We have been to chef table events at other restaurants but this surpassed all our experiences. We are already preparing to return! Wish we could rate this higher than a 5!
Note: the restaurant posts events for each month at beginning of month. They host cooking classes, too, as well as offer option to book private party event.

This was the chef's table at Barbara Lynch's test/demonstration kitchen. Great experience for foodies. It is an intimate setting, with 10 people sitting around a large block table. The chef prepares and cooks 5 courses right in front of you. Each course is paired up with a wine. The manager was great about getting people to relax and open up...by the end of the evening it was like we were all old friends. Barbara Lynch does not do these herself (they are done by chefs from her various restaurants), but it is still great. It gives the chefs a chance to relax and cook what they want. The food this night was excellent, and even met the approval of my very discerning wife! Highly recommended!

Book 2 tickets way in advance for the type of cuisine that suits your fancy. Call a friend or bring your spouse for a unique dining experience. A pre-fixe menu based on the London chef Ottonlenghi complete with wine pairings was on the menu this Monday evening in April. Ten guests (we didn't know each other) sat around a horseshoe shaped table and enjoyed the sommelier description of each wine and why he paired it with the chef's dinner choices. The food was outstanding and the variety unbelievable. The chef explained the flavors and techniques perfectly. From grilled octopus, to kafte, to grilled pineapple with lime glace, every person at the table tried something they had never tried before. Even the one vegetarian at the dinner enjoyed the complex dishes to their fullest.

Our daughter organized a birthday party at the Stir last weekend. The setting was perfect. The room was small, with 10 sittings, cozy, intimate and private, apt for small talks and hearty laughs. We had a set menu with seven courses paired with 7 wines. The dishes were outstanding; carefully and beautifully executed; great varieties and the portions were just right. The wine selections were interesting and good. The sommelier and chef were top notch. It was indeed a very memorable experience.

Pure joy. We celebrated our daughter's 30th birthday dinner at Stir. Private setting for 10. The service was impeccable (thank you, April) and the meal was expertly prepared (thank you, sous-chef Andrew).
