The 3-hour adventure in a 4-wheel drive vehicle piloted by Bobby Vanwinkle, owner and Head Guide of this Navajo tour company, is an unforgettable experience. Although his name may not sound like that of a First American, Mr. Vanwinkle's beloved ancestral and personal home is Canyon de Chelly -- and he loves to show it to you and describe its beauty and history. You will see ruins of ancient dwellings, and examine pictographs and petroglyphs, gaining an understanding of the peoples who continue to live in the red rock shadows of this magnificent jewel of a canyon.

Had a most enjoyable 5 hour guided tour with Mr. Bobby of the Canyon floor. He was born in the canyon and is very knowledgeable about the area. We never felt rushed and had plenty of stops to get out and walk around, Our only regret is that we forgot to get a picture with Mr. Bobby. Canyon de Chelly is a beautiful place and I would highly recommend a visit!!

Bobby Vanwinkle, Sr. was raised in the canyon and can show you it's history, geology and beauty. He is kind, well-spoken, humerous and knowledgeable. He will give you a 3-hour jeep tour, take you hiking, or on an overnight camping experience. He's 67 and quite fit. When he dropped us off, he was off to the Tribal Rodeo in Window Rock to compete in the rodeo! Great guy and fine guide.

Great time with Bobby. The canyon is beautiful, and it is nice to see the petroglyphs up close instead of from the rim.

We went on the 5-hour tour to Spider Rock with Dennis and his sweet 10-year old granddaughter. Dennis spent his childhood in the canyon so he has a very intimate knowledge of the canyon. Dennis was very accommodating and would stop whenever we asked him to so that we could take photos. I was very impressed with the relationship he has with his granddaughter. You can see she enjoys the canyon through his eyes and stories. Thank you, Dennis, for showing us your world. We appreciate the opportunity to visit your summer home.
