This tour was one of the highlights of our NYC trip. Although we live halfway around the world, the events of 9/11 still affected us and we felt it was important to visit the memorial to pay our respects.

Thank you to our guide Leokadia for sharing her personal story of survival. It was a truly moving and humbling experience. Highly recommended.

This is an extremely somber experience that makes you think of so many different things that somehow simply eluded one before.
The stories are well told and represented.
Much to think about and of course it only drives home that fateful day....

Apparently one of the options is to go on a tour which is led by either 9/11 survivors or their relatives. We opted not to simply for the fear that we would not be able to handle it emotionally. That said - I am confident that there would be even more info to process on one of these tours

We went on the guided tour with 2 gents, Dan and Dan. One a crane worker who worked next to the trade centre and the other a former FDNY worker. Both were really interested, informed and good speakers for volunteers. The tour was well run, us all having headsets so we were always able to hear what was being said and pointed out. Their stories were riveting, and although shocking and tragic, the tour was a definite highlight of the trip.
