“Clean, Comfortable Rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2012

Upon arrival, we found the front desk personnel to be very friendly and helpful. Our stay started off great when we were told we could store our luggage at the hotel when we arrived long before check-in. The room we stayed in on the sixth floor was small but quiet and spotless. The bed was very comfortable and they had both soft and hard pillows on the bed which were marked on the pillow cases. We slept great! I've read reviews criticizing the breakfast and crowds but I thought they did a great job of replenishing the food and cleaning up. There were at least six containers of coffee, both bacon and sausage, small pre-made omelets, pancakes, cinnamon buns, danish, yogurt, milk, OJ, fresh fruit and more. I think that is a great free breakfast and makes it worth dealing with the crowds! As for the crowds, it wasn't any more crowded than other hotels that offer free breakfasts - It's all about the timing. One time, I ate in the comfortable chairs in the lobby as the breakfast area was full. The second day, there were four open tables in the breakfast room. Another plus is the computers with printer readily available in the lobby. The toner was running out and the gentleman at the front desk immediately got a new toner so we could print tickets. Now, to give a fair review, I will mention the negative things. It takes a long time to get an elevator in the morning. Fortunately, being on the sixth floor, we could use the steps. Unfortunately, some time during the night or early morning, they painted the door to the steps and didn't put up a "Wet Paint" sign and my son ended up with paint on his pants from brushing up against it and we had paint all over our hands. I mentioned it at the front desk at check-out and, hopefully, they put up a sign for others. Also, because of the room being so small, it is hard eating in the room (if the breakfast room and lobby are full).

Recently returned from a 3 night break in New York. This hotel is only 3 blocks away from Times Square and Subway. Not the best views from the hotel but for the price I couldn't complain. 3 of us stayed in one room which was equipped with 2 double beds. Although quite small it was very clean and maids came in everyday. There was a plenty of hot water for the shower and they provide small bottles of shampoo, conditioner & bars of soap. The room had a decent size TV, a small desk, wardrobe, chest of drawers & bedside lamps. Breakfast was included which consisted of muffins, bread, bagels, omelettes, sausage patties, pastries, yoghurts, hot drinks (available 24/7) & juices which was adequate to start you off for the day. I found the staff very friendly & informative. There are 2 computers in an alcove opposite reception with free wi-fi and a printer, very handy. There is also a concierge on call. Hotel is not too big hence only 2 lifts which can take time to stop at your floor. There are plenty of restaurants nearby including a small Caribbean takeaway shop around the corner from the hotel. If you arrive before check -in time or are leaving later after check-out you can leave your luggage in a secure room. If you want to make any calls, get a phone card from Duane Reade drugstore (out of hotel turn left, at crossroads turn left & then 1 block down). You can then use this in your room, saves a lot of money.

great location, only a couple of blocks from times square.
Reception staff were very helpful.
good value for money. Rooms were quite tight as would be expected for something this close to times square.
Breakfast area is too small for the number of guests but staff do their utmost to make it work and keep people circulating through the area.

the location is perfect, Times Square, minutes from all means of transportation, even easy to reach in a car (if you must drive in Manhattan...) right out of the Lincoln Tunnel. rooms are a bit small, the hotel is thin , there are only 6 rooms in a floor but has some 35 floors, so rush hours can be annoying while waiting for the elevator. efficient front desk and knowlegable concierge take care of good service. gym is shared with a neighbor hotel so you better do your exercise on the avenues...coffee machine in each room, free wifi working fine, a bit messy breakfast, what can i say: welcome to Manhattan!

Room Tip: get a room up to 5th floor and avoid the elevator
