This restaurant is right in the middle of everything fun in Times Square and the theater district. Love the cozy decor and great service. It is a relaxing place to have a bite to eat before or after a show. The bread is exceptionally good. My favorite picks are: Mussels(Provencales), Escargots à la Bourguignonne, Paté de campagne, Risotto du marché, Lapin des Garrigues au Romarin and Jaret d’âgneau braisé à la Provençale. Seafood like sea bass and salmon are just so so. Escargots melt in your mouth; Pate very tasty; Ristotto creamy and well prepared; rabbit tender and juicy; and lamb cooked to perfection with rosemary reduction.

Not being our first visit to this fine establishment, we treated ourselves to yet another early supper yesterday. Once again, the food and service were outstanding. One will be disappointed if one expects warm, chummy, and gregarious service. The French may not be known for those qualities, however, the service is excellent and one will only be appointed! Noise levels can get slightly on the high side, however, you will always be able to hear those persons near you (the important ones). Try this establishment for a consistently excellent experience.

We were looking for a nice relaxed place to eat in New York and stumbled across this place; we made an appropriate reservation for later that night. Upon arrival we were really impressed, the whole place looks great and feels fab inside. We were approached by a young waiter, gave him our name etc, unfortunately he couldnt seat us straight away as according to him he had to get permission from his manager. The manager who was leant against the bar chatting! After a short delay we were seated.

We had a multitude of servers, our table had too many places for our party, several times we asked for the large table decoration of flowers and spare places/chairs to be removed…in fact on the 4th time of asking it actually happened.

Whilst we waited for our drinks order to be taken and menus given we had to witness 2 male waiters (tall and bald short one) having a very public argument.

Our order was eventually taken and when we asked about the wine it was apparent our server knew very little about the list. The food started to arrive, and was brought out by a member of staff who was openly referring to us as numbers and still placing the wrong dish with the wrong guest. Escargots with no shells, French onion soup that was mediocre! Don't get me wrong it was tasty but we were expecting something a little more, why serve Escargot with no shells, french onion soup that was watery?????!!! Our main courses arrived in 'shifts' to the point some of us started eating for fear of them going cold! The steaks were over cooked to the point of being well done when they were requested to be medium to rare and rare, but quite frankly we were so hungary by now we just needed food. What was interesting was our server asked if everything was OK when we had our starters but that was the only time! They came to clear our plates and despite 2 of our party leaving most of their over done meat, no member of staff questioned why nearly a full steak was being sent back!!!! We asked for the bill and were left disgusted by the exorbitant service charge. We requested this be taken off which created quite an attitude change, ranging from been begged and told "that servers do not get any payment from the restaurant and they have to live off tips and the owners takes a cut of those as well" through to being pointed at by the manager and server and talked about. We did leave an APPROPRIATE tip for the experience this place created but the whole episode left a very nasty taste in our mouths.

Perhaps they should think about creating a great dining experience, by becoming customer centric and learn how real Bistro's operate and not just how much money they can extort from you!

This restaurant have a great ambiance. The menu is very authentic and french.
Portions are fairly small and there is no free refill on soft drinks.
The quality of a plate of cold cuts is high and the bread is fresh and has a real Italien taste.
I had onion soup. It was a bit too sweet maybe because of the thick-thick layer of cheese.
The waiters are so effective and fast that you almost feel like they are rushing it a bit. This is too bad because the white table cloth suggests a bit more fine dining.
But a good rating anyway beacause of the quality of food.

This is a very nice French-Provencal restaurant in the middle of the theater district.

Dinner is started with very nice provencal touches like a tapenade and very good olive oil to put on your bread, which is also great.

I had mussels provencal and steak tartare, both exceptional. Great attention to detail, the frites and the salad that came with the steak were freshly prepared and delicious. Service is also very friendly and efficient.

The prices are reasonable, especially considering the location. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
