I stayed 3 nights Jan26-29. I was on 42nd floor with a corner room. Very nice room and room was spacious and clean. I used points for this room. The staff was very helpful and quite courteous. The hotel opens out onto 42nd street and you are right in the thick of it. Remember this area is a tourist trap so you have all the annoyances that go along with that. Things are very expensive and streets are crowded. The hotel has a nice breakfast which I got for free as a Diamond Member however it would have been $26 each had I not been. Not worth it if you have to pay. Room was very quiet as well.

Room Tip: Call in advance and speak with Jasmine.

As a location if you want to be in the heart of New York then little beats this. Just off Times Square and close to all forms of transport. I have just come back from a business trip and stayed there.

Its one of those hotels that does not start until about the 20th floor. First lift takes you from a fairly non descript entrance hall up to the main lobby.

In general the hotel is what you would expect from a large upmarket chain hotel. Staff are efficient and friendly. Rooms are clean and tidy and well equiped.

My niggles with this place are the extras over and above the room cost.

Breakfast - with tip this comes to US$30 which is pricey for what you get. The food is fine but not great. After 2 days I ate breakfast out, got better food and paid significantly less.

Minibar - Do not touch it. US$4.50 fior a can of coke plus some strange extra charge. That is an outrageous price. Aslo its one of those minibars that charge you if you remove the can from the bar, you cannot put it back so whatch the kids. I hate those minibars, they are so disrespectful to the guest.

Room service. One night I had had a long day and was tired. Ordered a pizza but did not really look at the charges. US$16 for a basic pizza... plus 21% service charge .... plus 3% room charge. That's almost US$20 for a 12" pizza. Toooooooooooo much

Business centre: I needed access to print off one document, one A4 page. Minimum charge US$5

I know hotels are struggling to make money but these charges are excessive.

Room Tip: What you pay is what you get. No special views as all rooms are high.

Loved the Hilton Times Square. Went there for New Year's and although Times Square is complete madness at that time, had a very nice time there. The room was very nice and modern, beds very comfortable, had a nice room with a good view and hassle free visit. Plus once you go down to the ground floor, you are right in the broadway action!

Great time at Hilton Times Square

Having stayed for many years at the Hilton and Towers on 53rd and 6th I decided to try the TS Hilton because it was only 2 blocks away from both of my business appointments. I was upgraded to the 41st floor and facing away form TS so it was very quiet. I found the staff to be outstanding and Raquel Ortiz, who checked me in, could not have been more personable and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was complimentary for my status and it was extremely good and bountiful and service exemplary. This hotel does not have an executive lounge and i can understand since it probably serves mostly tourists. I really didn't miss the Hilton and Towers 5:00 pm appetizer buzzards who try to make a meal of chicken wings, cocktail franks, and raw vegetables...not a pretty sight.
If I had one complaint about the Hilton TS is that one of the two elevators from the lobby to the street level was out of commission when I was there and that was a slight annoyance when compared to 6 high speed elevators from the lobby to the rooms.

Room Tip: Don't overlook Times Square
