Stopped here for lunch with a friend and had there lunch special. I ordered the spring rolls for my appetizer and was served two with a light sweet sauce that was delicious. For my entree, I chose the pineapple rice with chicken which was just OK in my opinion because the main flavor I tasted was pepper! This place is no comparison to my favorite Thai spot which is in Brooklyn (Thai Basil). Now they served some seriously delicious pineapple fried rice! It maybe just me but the main flavor of PINEAPPLE fried rice should not be black pepper IJS.
However, the service was polite and fast. I would only return if Im in the area

Having spent a month eating my way through Thailand from north to south, from hill tribe villages to Bangkok, and attending a cooking school in Chiang Mai, I think I can recognize authentic Thai food.

This wasn't it!

Friendly service, (though they got part of the order wrong), this is not the worst food you'll get. We began with a spicy (not really) Tom Yum soup and a papaya salad. Neither tasted anything like Tom Yum soup and papaya salad in Thailand. The soup was too sweet and didn't have any distinctive flavors. The papaya salad was completely lacking fish sauce and spiciness. Not much papaya either. Moving on to the main course, we had crispy duck with cashew and pineapple sauce and drunken noodles with shrimp. The duck was indeed crispy and tasty but the sauce wasn't at all saucy and there was nothing to put on the rice that comes with it. The drunken noodles needed a drink. No distinctive flavor. The dish was so mild it was totally without distinction. The Chiang beer was the only authentically Thai element of the meal besides the sweet Thai waiter. The total bill was $49 and it definitely wasn't worth it. If you want Thai food, avoid Soi 30.

Great, inexpensive Thai. Very, very tasty. Decent atmosphere tho sometimes they blast the music a little too much. The lunches are dirt cheap and delicious.

As an airline pilot with a global airline, I enjoy both travel and sampling many different ways to prepare food! Soil 30 is my favourite Thai restaurant outside Thailand - and I have visited many!

The welcome is warm and 'Asian deferential', with most of the staff being young and from an Asian background. the tables are simple and clean, the majority with a view of the bustling street. But the highlight is the food - I have eaten here 3 times in 3 visits and never been even mildly disappointed.

Tom yum, green curry, chicken cashew, satay, Thai iced tea - all are fresh, tasty and (most importantly) authentic!

I highly recommend this restaurant, both for lunch and for informal dinner.
