We went to Amelie just for the creme brûlée because we found it as the top rated creme brûlée in New York.

The environment is fun and dimly lit, but we must admit that amidst the Pokemon go revelation, some of the lighting did remind us of Pokemon go.

Our creme brûlée was delicious. It is topped with bananas and strawberries. The custard is creamy and the top had just the right crunch.

We ordered wine and champagne and both were fabulous. Though I cannot speak for the rest of the menu, I am assured by the quality of service we received that the rest of the menu options would also be top notch.

Don't go expecting anything more than a hole in the wall done up in garish 90s style. I thin two brothers own the place and all the staff is french. They have a decent wine list which is well priced. We had the zucchini flatbread which was average but then shared the salmon which has to be one of the highlights of my three week stay in NYC. Great for a first date or girls night out. Well priced and delicious.

Service is focused and attentive. The food is delicious. The wine list is fairly robust with plenty by the glass. The place is intimate. The enthusiasm and attentiveness of the staff made up for a few flaws (9pm reservation, not seated until 10pm, my duck was a bit over-sauced and not as tender as it should have been, the wines by the bottle tend toward the younger side. Quiet noisy when full)

We booked a table at Amelie ahead of our visit to NYC and we weren't disappointed! taxi from Times Square is about $15 with tip.

The restaurant itself is nice and cozy while tables are close to one another. It actually helped us chat with another couple who was sitting beside us who were from the same country!

Food was delish! The Octopus was amazing - soft inside, crispy outside. We also ordered the Steak Tartar and the Foie Gras which were both very tasty.

Service was immaculate and atmosphere very romantic. For dessert we had the Banana Creme Brule and chocolate lava cake. Both were great!

food was filling and we just took 3 appetizers with no main course. The Marques Del Puerto 2005 red wine was awesome! (Rioja)

I would definitely recommend this place! Also walking distance to other bars so you don't have to end the night in that restaurant... (check my review for Jeffrey's)

Went with friends who are serious wine drinkers. They loved that they could try a lot of different wines. Place was very busy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value during happy hour. Recommend making a reservation. We sat at the bar which was fine.
