Description: Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say we also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!

I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn and the gnocchi at my 3 favorite restaurants there are way better than the one served at Gigino. They were bland, had very little flavor and came out at room temperature. If the gnocchi had been hotter, they would have been mushier. The meatballs served with it were yummy. Salads looked good, the atmosphere was wonderful and the lemon tart for dessert was very good. With so many restaurants in the area, I would not go back. Huge menu - maybe I just ordered the wrong dish.

Had an early dinner with a friend. The place was empty around 3pm. Friendly staff who seemed knowledgeable about the menu. We had salmon al balsamico $27 and salmon all agrodolce $27.
Both very tasty. meal followed by hot tea $4 and cappuccino $5. I was surprised at the price of wine by the glass. Bianco $14 Pino Acacia $16.
A nice meal but the wine was overpriced even in Manhattan.

We visited at around 10pm on a Friday night and ate inside the restaurant. It was perfect for conversation and sharing—not too loud, not empty. The pizza was terrific, as was the salmon recommendation. Also: the espresso martini + the tiramisu were a great combination. Light and lovely. Our waiter was appropriately attentive—gentle, aware, very nice. It was a genuinely lovely experience.

I recommend the ‘Spaghetti Del Padrino’ (spaghetti with beetroot) if you are not feeling meat!

A nice Italian place in TriBeCa..

Definitely better at Pizzas than pastas. Unfortunately none of us was in the mood for pizza so we all ordered pastas. It was ok, decent, but nothing to write home about. No different than any of the good, decent, hundreds of Italian places in NY. Service is friendly but on the slow side.
