Had a fantastic meal at this restaurant and decided to have the tasting menu with tasting wine! Best choice indeed!! Its best to book a table well in advance as the resturant is very popular. The service is very posh/good and the wine pairing was just perfect. I opted for the lounge table as I was alone, but the dinning looked cosy. I had a tuna for starters followed by Calamari. Next came the pasta dish with truffles and lobster which was yummy, yummy, yummy!!! The dishes however came too close after one another and in hindsight, I think I should have asked the waiter to stagger them much longer in between. Had a red snapper afterwards and it was just melting in my mouth. My next dish was the black bass with veal. Very tasty. The desserts were "to die for"!! Amazing yoghurt sorbet and warm chocolate cake! A must visit when in NYC!!

You will not want to miss a bite, so be sure to go hungry! The food, the setting and the service are all AMAZING! Yes, it's expensive, but you must dine here at least once in your lifetime. We make it a point to eat here each time we're in NYC (if we can get a reservation)! They take reservations 28 days ahead - so be sure to call the MINUTE they start answering phones!

Le Bernardin is not just a world class destination for diners with the most creative and well prepared and presented plates you will find anywhere. It is also the most desirable place for a private dinner in one of its upstairs rooms. It is incredible that they are able to conceive and execute menus of unparalleled excellence for 50 or more with service that equals smaller parties downstairs. this is one of the few restaurants that actually deserves the acclaim it receives year in and year out.

I had been wanting to go to Le Bernardin for years and was blessed to do so for my 40th birthday. If you want amazing service and beyond amazing food, you definitely need to make it a point to get reservations and go. We booked 1.5 months before our visit as they open up reservations the month prior. I called directly at 9am and was able to book both the day and time I wanted for 4 people. They have 2 tasting menus and a prix fixe menu as well but the table needs to all the do the same thing. In addition to the tasting menus, you can chose to have wine pairings although this doesn't have to be for the whole table. While they do not like for you to take pictures inside, one of our servers did take a picture of us at our table. We had also asked questions about the kitchen and were invited back for a tour.... amazing. While our bill was surely expensive, it was worth every penny and our table of 4 all felt they would want to come back for another meal when we are in NYC. It is definitely worth the hype and hefty price tag!
