This is one of the restaurant gems of lower Manhattan. Located near City Hall and the Freedom Tower, it's Italian dining at it's finest. From the cheese served when you arrive to the spicy sausage and eggplant served while you look at the menu and listen to the specials, the service is suburb. So is the food.
We went with the specials, and while this is definitely not an inexpensive place, each of the specials was amazing. The food's final preparation is often conducted at the table, or at cooking stations in the dining room. They are very accommodating, so if you prefer your food spicier or less spicy, they will make it as you like it.
Another part of the "old school" atmosphere in their beautiful dining room is that they make you feel like a valued friend, even if it's your first visit.
We'll be back for other special occasions, and if you find yourself in lower Manhattan and are looking for a special place to dine, this is it.
After 7PM, we had no problem finding legal and free on-street parking across the street from the restaurant. During the day, street parking is much less likely and you may have to plan to use one of the local garages.
Hope this review is helpful and that you have a chance to try Acappella.
