If there is a choice stick to the ABT. The fact is the NYCB dancers mostly aren't as beautiful or talented as those in the ABT. They lack the super talented foreign dancers that the ABT has. The sets are meagre too. They mostly do assorted programs instead of full length ballets.

Don't miss a ballet when coming to NY especially if you love it. November - the Nutcracker - MUST SEE!

I always love visiting the NYC Ballet. The hall is wonderful and you can see the performances, just about from any seat!

One of the world's best ballet companies (I think the best after seeing other world renowned companies) leaves you in awe. The experience is almost overwhelming. Seats can be expensive and hard to come by (especially for The Nutcracker around Christmas) but, by and large, good seats are available and can be had usually up to the day of the performance, especially on a weekday (Fri. Night excluded). If you have your heart set on a particular performance and a particular seating area, order in advance. Single seats are a steal because they can often be had at a bargain in a prime area. A personal plea....PLEASE dress appropriately...there is no dress code but dress nicely...give the performance the respect that it deserves and don't forget to have a glass of champagne during intermission. A perfect evening.

If you like Ballet its a place you must visit while in NYC. While I like ballet and appreciate the Art, I have never taken any lessons myself but as you watch these wonderful performance you feel as if you could and is place of the show.
