Stopped in for lunch on Presidents day. Menu had a wide varity of Mexican dishes. I went with Taco plate, it came with 3 taco, rice and beans. Chips and salsa were brought before meal arrived. Chips were cold and dry, salsa was pretty good. meal came shortly afterwards. Everything was fresh and hot with good flavor. Service was okay... I only stopped at this resturant because I was in the area and was in a hurry. I probably will not eat there again.

We were looking for a place to have lunch after a meeting and noticed that there were quite a few cars at the New Clock Restaurant. So it must have great food, right? Wrong!
I ordered the chile rellenos and instead of receiving a nice crispy couple of battered chiles I got a soggy mess. The cook battered and fried the rellenos but then proceeded to dump salsa over the chiles. By the time I received my meal (service was slow) the batter and chiles were soggy. I have to say this was the worst plate of chile rellenos I ever had. I will not return.
The price of the meal was reasonable, but you get what you pay for....

You can always count on the friendliest staff to get you the best plate in town. Probably the most inexpensive restaurant in the entire city and you get outstanding quality! Take all the time you want and get there early for lunch as it fills up quickly. The place never gets out of time.

I grew up just a few blocks from this place. I remember it when it was a Big Boys. Over the years I have gone in for a meal every now and then and it has always been friendly and good fixin's as well.
You don't have to wonder if they are working hard there. You can see the kitchen and the cooks, They don't slouch a bit.

These days, my daughter and son in law (who lives in Dallas) and my grandson always look forward to having a meal or two at the Clock when they visit - And that is what makes The Clock what it is. A great family destination in El Paso, Texas.

It's not always the looks that grab you!!

We stopped here early one Saturday morning for breakfast and despite being there before 8am we had to wait for even a place at the bar. We ordered and the food took a good 20 minutes to come out but the server was sweet and the food was good. The portions weren't huge but they were enough to satisfy. The waffle was very good and my husband loved his SOS he just wished he had another biscuit so he could finish off his gravy. Overall we would go back because we can't even eat at McDonald's for that price and amount of food. Great little greasy spoon that looks like it's on an movie set.
