Almost everything was closed. Maybe more shops are open later on weekends, but not much going on during the week.

We spent the day at the beach in Ventura, beating the heat, enjoying the view and the salt sea air. By late afternoon it was time to pack it in but instead of that end of the day ride home in traffic, we popped across the street to Ventura Harbor Village! It is just the spot to shake off beach lethargy, take a long walk, enjoy the sights of the harbor, do a bit of shopping and stop for a drink or a bite to eat! Convenient to the beach, the Harbor offers restaurants ranging from coffee shops and ice cream to a Mexican cantina, a celebration of Greek hospitality and an authentic harbor side fish shack. Interspersed among restaurants are numerous interesting boutiques offering everything from artisanal nautical decor to typical beachy souvenirs.
Off the sand, we thoroughly enjoyed our walk, while switching from the roar of the sea to to the elegance of the harbor. This is one of our very favorite places in Southern California!

The place is pretty dead...a good portion of the spaces are available for rent. Most of the businesses that are there are either closed or are touristy restaurants. We walked around waiting for the sunset after a boat trip to Santa Cruz island. Brophy Bros was above average, though (just shoddy service).

This is a fun place to visit with plenty of shops and restaurants. Great views being between the harbor and beach front. A great place to spend the day.
