I had to stay here with my son's team as a chaperone and was pleasantly surprised. The locations is lovely as all the rooms have views of the harbor. There is a good complimentary breakfast with eggs, yogurt, pancakes, cereal, etc.
The rooms were large and beds were comfortable. The rooms are dated and have a stale smell but that is probably because they are right next to the harbor.
You can walk to the harbor pier where there are a few shops, cafes and restaurants and an arcade.

Ground floor suite/king bed/non smoking/harbor (Marina) view. Livingroom with tv, sofa, chair and 4 tables. Bedroom had comfortable king bed, pillows not so much, good sheets and tv. Plenty of drawer space but closet was a bit small with full size ironing board there too. At least a dozen wood hangers. Large bathroom with large Jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower/typical bathroom amenities but oddly no show caps! Quality towels and washcloths. Kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and separate sink, pots & pans as well as dishware. Free wireless internet. Full breakfast (paper cups and plates) in a small common room. $11 per night parking fee. Next time would not want a ground floor room and would be sure to ask for second or third floor room for more privacy. Also would downgrade to basic room with a coffee pot as we did not use the kitchen in the suite. Harbor view is great in the am but by late afternoon the sun and heat does come thru the large window and pulling the drapes puts a stop the lovely view. We found no "smell" in the hotel or area as reported by another reviewer. Some rooms face the parking lot and looked like they might have a private patio outside the room surrounded by a high block wall. 1/2 to 3/4 stroll to the marina's shops, cafes and restaurants. Warning: our suite had a step down from bedroom to livingroom. If you are not careful you could take a nasty tumble! We would recommend this hotel for businessmen, couples and families.

Room tip: Daytime privacy would be better on second or third (top) floor.

The reservationist told us it was a new hotel, not an old one, newly acquired. We were surprised that the room needed updating plus needed a clean a/c. I would not stay there again unless it were updated. If you go, ask for a harbor view. It is a pleasant walk around the harbor to see the boats docked there and to watch the sunset.

Room tip: Harbor side.

I stayed in this hotel for one night for business. I arrived late after flying from SFO to LAX and then driving up so it was dark when I arrived. I still appreciated the large balcony that evening. However, I was pleasantly surprised in the morning when I realized what a great location/view of the harbor I had. The room itself was large and clean, but could use an upgrade.

A very good HI Express with spacious and quiet rooms and ample parking space. It is situated by the marina with its restaurants and shopping. Professional service, and the continental breakfast included was slightly better than in other HI Express I stayed in on this trip.
