Visit Bradenton often but never stopped here before. A quaint and quiet place for an early Monday dinner. One excellent server for the whole place. Husband had a sampler of schnitzel, roulade, and sauerbraten with German potato salad and Red cabbage. All apparently home made and delicious. I had the (huge) schnitzel, cabbage and spaetzel. I’m half German and this was all really really good. Topped it off with apple strudel. Prices were reasonable, good value. We will be back!

....stars. That should be the rank.

Excellent food, up and down the road. They offer a “Schnitzel sampler” dish with four of their sauces, all very tasty. And spaetzel, there is spaetzel and then there is SPAETZEL.

If you go-you are, aren’t you?-for sure, order this crinkly dish.

The menu is wide ranging, and covers many German dishes, pork shank, stuffed mushrooms, and the other usual suspects.

You can’t-well, ok, shouldn’t-order everything on one trip. Schedule another one, you won’t be disappointed.

Greeted by a friendly Cory who helped at the door. Sharp wit too. Friendly service, of course great choice of beer. Schnitzel Vienna was my very good choice. Old standard of potato cake and brat for Dad. Plates cleaned. Will review desert next time. No room left.

I finally made it to Restaurant Edelweiss. I cannot believe it took me this long. We went without a reservation, and were seated immediately. Our hostess/server, Frau Eddie, was awesome. She was very patient with our first time questions. The menu is very extensive and so it is tough to make a food selection right away. The appetizer list has very appealing choices. The main menu is spectacular. Soooo many authentic items to choose from. My wife had pork schnitzel. It was plate size! Her sides were spaetzel, and red cabbage. OMG. I chose the sausage sampler with red cabbage and German potato salad, both warm. I started to drool the minute I ordered. Of the 3 sausages, I prefer the bratwurst. I like course ground sausages. I had a nice red wine as well. After working on the huge dinner portions, there was no room for anything else. The restaurant is fairly small and intimate, but not too small to handle a group of 10-12. Bar seating is available. Only beer and wine are served. (what else would you expect from a German restaurant?) We WILL be returning to R E in the near future. Probably during their Oktoberfest celebration. Can't wait to go back.
