You can tell that this is an older hotel that has been superficially redone. The sink in the bedroom was a bit of a pain, and the elderly microwave barely worked at all. The AC system was loud. Parking was tight with an awkward entrance and turns in a tight lot. Apparently the bar can be fairly popular on weekends leading to limited parking in later evening (according to the staff). Our room had comfortable bedding on the two beds, but because there were 5 in our group and we had requested a room with a sofa bed, it was frustrating that there was no bedding at all in the room for the sofa bed-and when we went down and requested some they told us to just take pillows from the beds in the room to use, rather than providing us with one or two. Towels were limited with no hand towels and no towel racks near the sink. There was a long padded bench which was nice as a luggage rack for two suitcases. We had a reservation at a much less expensive hotel first, and changed to this one at almost double the cost. We changed our reservation to this hotel particularly because we were told it was walking distance to Muzikfest, but then when we got there we were told it wasnt really, and they recommended the shuttle, (which only left on the hour). It only takes you to the south side, and you have to then pay for a ticket and take a transfer shuttle to the busier north side where most of the activities are. The shuttle drive takes only a few minutes from the hotel, and they said to call when you wanted to return. Our concert was cut short due to dangerous lightening, and police were telling everyone to take cover and leave the area immediately. We called for pick up in pouring rain with increasing lightening, and were told at 10:15 that they would not come to get us until 11. (!!). There was a dangerous weather situation, the police were telling us we had to leave, there were no cabs, almost nowhere to shelter from the deluge, and the hotel absolutely refused to send their shuttle. By the time the shuttle came, it was well after 11pm, and there were so many desperate people waiting by then that we all had to cram into the one late shuttle, returning with 15 people jammed into a 10 seat van. I was appalled that a place that could have had a driver there in 10 minutes left us out there in that dangerous weather for an hour, in lightening and soaked to the skin after all the concerts had already been cut in half and canceled, with no concern for their hotel guests. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special, and the price was high for what we received during our stay. Most of the staff were cold and unhelpful, one man at the front desk was very nice. Overall it was not a good experience, and I would not stay here again.
