First I've got to tell you that it's bar food. But it's good bar food I had an open face chili burger that was really good. My wife had a bacon cheeseburger that was also better then expected. Yeah mysterious quaint and I absolutely have to find out why there is a toilet seat above the cash register. Hopefully it's not just a punchline from a joke. The title of this review is asked about a brownie. That would apply to their cookies as well. Both I am told are made it home by one of the employees. Absolutely one of the best brownies you'll ever taste. Hope it wasn't a fluke. Apologies to Alice B toklas. If you're in Coupeville in the afternoon or evening give this place a try

We stopped in for lunch, after the Labor Day madness, we thought. We sat outside on a bench and waited for about 30 min. We had the only bench, all other people waiting for a table, or a seat at the bar, were wandering upend down front Street. We were finally called, this was on an overcast 70 degree day, it was so Hot inside, people were jammed in everywhere. There needs to be a window that opens for ventilation in the back towards the water. Service was very slow, extremely so, we waited for 45 minutes for our food. The waitress just sort of there the food down. The food was o.k. nothing special. Our son loved the mussels though. This place is well loved, we live on the Island and it is famous, not sure why. They need better scheduling of the staff. We finally left our "Lunch" at 2:00. To me, it was not worth the wait. The waitress was red faced and running as she tried to deliver the food.

Never taste mussel like this, they are so fresh and soft, no sand at all. We ordered 2 lbs for 2 of use with 6pcs of garlic bread, we can finish them! Unbelievable! Dip the garlic bread in the mussel soup is fabulous! However, we arrived at the time they were full house, have to wait for 15 mins and then wait for another 15 mins for the Mussels, we were almost starving to die:)

Fun evening for dinner and drinks in this cool tavern. The two ladies waiting on tables were a blast! We shall return.

We were craving mussels and knew Toby's had them. We split a pound with fries. Delicious! Cooked in white wine and garlic . Great service. A little dark away from the windows but worth it.
