This is your typical Marriot property with a convienient location to the Convention Center and other attractions.
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient.
My room was on the 15th floor with a partial view of city hall. I don't think there are sweeping views of the city from any room due to proximity of other structures downtown. But it was very comfortable.
A nice indoor heated pool is located next to the well equipped, but slightly cramped gym.
You will need the gym as the hotel is directly across from Reading Terminal Market. The market is home to several fresh produce stands, butchers, fish mongers, and an array of restaurants reasonably priced.

The Marriott Downtown is a wonderful property, and it's appeal is accentuated by what lies across the street...Reading Terminal Market.
The hotel is updated, and very well maintained. The lobby is beautiful and impressive with loads of seating available. The rooms are clean, beds very comfortable, the baths are beautiful and well stocked. As said before the location can't be beat, it is central to almost everything.
The staff was very professional and accommodating. The Bell captain even used his personal charger to charge my daughters i phone, when she left hers at home.
The true gem for your inner foodie is the Reading Terminal Market across 12th. St. A huge train station revamped and stuffed, and I mean stuffed with local food vendors...both the eat in and take a way types. Anything local to the Eastern Seaboard, and Pennsylvania is represented. Seafood and meat, cheese, produce, bakery...
Overall a wonderful experience!

I had a great experience at this hotel with the staff, especially the front desk. The shared space in the hotel is great, love the convenience of having Starbucks Right downstairs. Unfortunately there is nothing special about the rooms, especially to justify the price of a night here. It was not big and not ThAT comfortable, though I was staying at a special rate and maybe was given a smaller room. The location is great, but there are at least 3 other hotels that are right there as well, and I think next time I am in the are I will try one of them instead.

This Marriott is in a great location. Within walking distance to the convention center, as well as the tourism. Close to Reading Market - which is a great spot for lunch. I found the front desk service to be excellent, but would only rate the housekeeping service at average. Our room wasn't serviced one of the days, and the housekeeper got a bit snippy at us saying we left the "do not disturb" marker on the door, which we didn't. One disappointment is with the hours of the concierge level. Only open on weekdays, and I just don't understand why Marriott does that in the US. Was there on business, and they should realize that many conferences do extend into the weekend. As a gold member, it would be nice to utilize this service over the weekend. The room was clean, but only average compared to other Marriott properties. We did eat in the restaurant - and the food was good and service was excellent, albeit slow. Still a good Marriott property for business.

First, the staff: wonderful! From check-in to the restaurant waiters to the bartender to the housekeeper, everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, professional and always offering to help or check on how we were doing. Can't say enough nice things about them. Second, the location: ideal! Just across from my favorite place, the Reading Terminal Market, the hotel is so easy to walk through the neighborhoods nearby, and only a couple blocks from City Hall and the heart of the city; a great "base" to see the city! Third, the room: great! Very clean, well kept and has all the conveniences. I was also surprised by how quiet it was, given that most city hotels can have paper-thin walls - these guys are the opposite. It was a Friday night and we never heard a peep from the hallways.
