Was my first time to see and get a feel of chestnut hill, a charming quiet and traditional but antique suburb just a few miles from downtown philly, and what a beautiful complement to have stayed in this organically inspired boutique hotel. Luv the room with its modern amenities but antique decorated interiors. The service is standard and warm to make you feel welcome. The hotel has a lovely bistro aptly named Paris for its french cuisine where we celebrated easter sunday after coming to sunday morning mass. The community is amazing with well preserved homes and mansions, very quiet, walkable to stores that are organic to the community, no chain food stores or famous retail brands but still great quality and the store closes at 5 pm!, some kind of wonderland for families, no hustle and bustle but still everything is there, wait, i am supposed to review this hotel, but hey, this hotel is a true match to its community and those who wish to experience it as a visitor. Parking is not problem, breakfast that was complimentary is good and fresh, the room is not big but good enough for three of us to stay after dinner and not feel too cramped. Overall we felt like a local exploring the sights by walking and retiring to the hotel, for two nights, this hotel is a true delight and memorable to stay.

Dear Cesar B,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Chestnut Hill Hotel for your recent visit to Philadelphia over the Easter holiday weekend. I am happy to hear you felt welcomed and appreciated the mix of modern amenities and historic interior decor. It is great you had time to experience some of the area’s fine shopping and dining options, all within walking distance of the hotel. As you noticed, the stores do close early and it is relaxing to explore Germantown Avenue. Paris Bistro is one of Chestnut Hill’s finest restaurants and offers jazz performances on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Thank you again for your kind review. Hopefully your travel plans will bring you back for a return visit in the near future.

Great location. Staff was lovely and the food on the patio was very good! Great shape in the area, local brew pub and awesome mexican restaurant. I was there visiting the Institutes and it was a lovely walk!

Exactly what we needed. Everything clean and comfortable. Good shower. Black out curtains. Good wireless. Good cable TV stations. Coffee machine. Not noisy. Polite and nice staff. Adequate breakfast. Plenty of towels. L'occitane shampoo and conditioner. One bathrobe missing - only problem. Did not ask for another - not needed.

Dear Shayne r,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Chestnut Hill Hotel for your recent visit to Philadelphia. I am happy to hear you found our historic hotel to be clean and comfortable and that our staff took care of your needs. We added the in-room Nespresso coffee offering about 10 months ago and our guests seem to really enjoy it. We also recently upgraded our WiFi and I am delighted to hear it met your needs. I am pleased you liked our L’occitane amenities. Our guest rooms are equipped with one bathrobe; additional robes are available upon request. Thank you again for your thoughtful review. Hopefully we will see you for a return visit in the near future

This is a very nice small boutique hotel in a great location on Germantown Avenue. Within walking distance to many nice shops and lots of restaurants. Stayed in Room 304 which was nice facing the street (not too much street noise). There are 4 floors and you can hear people above you sometimes, not bad though. Bathroom was nice and the room was comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful with information. There is a continental breakfast served which was plenty to get our days started. They do have a parking lot which is shared with some stores and restaurants in the complex so it can fill up quickly in the evenings. We parked our car the first day and basically left it. The Chestnut Hill West rail line is just a couple blocks away and made it very easy to get into the city. Great area and a great hotel!

Dear RKAustin,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am glad to hear you were able to explore some of the great shops and restaurants Chestnut Hill has to offer, all within walking distance of the hotel. As you noticed, our rooms with views facing the “Avenue” are very nice; however, if you are a light sleeper, it is a good idea to request a quiet room as the Avenue can sometimes be noisy. I will share your positive comments with my staff; I am glad you found them to be friendly and helpful. We have a parking attendant on duty Thursday through Saturday to assist with parking. As you noticed, during peak times and especially when the weather is nice, there can be up to a five to ten minute wait as many people want to take advantage of the outside dining options. Chestnut Hill has two train routes (Chestnut Hill East and Chestnut Hill West) to Center City Philadelphia, both a few blocks from the hotel. You’re right, the train access makes it very easy to explore all our area has to offer. We hope to see you again soon!

We stayed for three nights in April, 2016, and had a very good experience. We enjoyed a nice-sized room (501) in the "Post Office" building (one of three buildings that form the hotel), decent-size bathroom with tub/shower, and a complimentary breakfast where the hotel had even put out matzos for those observing Passover. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. One of the pluses of this hotel is location. Germantown Ave. is filled with interesting shops and restaurants that make walking in this neighborhood a delight. (One of our favorites was Paris Bistro on the corner that has a jazz cafe and a French ambience throughout.) And the hotel is just four blocks from a SEPTA light-rail station; we connected from the Philadelphia airport within one hour.

Room Tip: You may want to look at your room before checking in, since each room is different, to make sure it meets your needs.
