I had never been to Philadelphia before and picked the perfect hotel.
The hotel is in a historic bank building centrally locate to many of Philadelphia’s historic sights, the conference center, shopping and has great restaurants in walking distance. The Terminal Market across the street is unique collection of eating places under one roof and has been for over a century.
Also South Philadelphia is a very short drive away ( a mile maybe). It’s an historic neighborhood of townhouses where you can fine unique shops and restaurants and is located next to the waterfront.

This is a lovely Hotel. The staff were attentive. The room was immaculate, with a lovely view. The location was excellent, I was able to take the train from the Airport and was less than a block from the Hotel. The Convention Center was 2 blocks away. The Liberty Bell etc. are within walking distance. The Hotel itself is in a beautiful historic building.

Check in was an issue. Arrived October 7 around 11pm. Reserved a room with a king bed. The receptionist had an issue on the computer and ran back to talk to the manager then came out and said no issue and told us she was giving a key to our room with a king bed. Arrive in the room and it was a queen bed. Called the front desk and got a male receptionist who said no other rooms available and was very flippant. I then spoke to the manager who had a take it or leave it attitude. We stayed for another 2 nights and to get moved to the room we booked had to - stand in line at the reception desk and ask to be moved. The proper way to handle this is to have the manager come out -explain the problem -apologize and - move us the next day without making us stand in line at reception. The room was clean but smelled of cigarettes and had a strange layout with the tv at a 90 degree angle to the bed. Would not recommend this hotel

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary weekend, what a mistake this was. This is supposed to be a pet friendly hotel, when we got there the "pet floor" was booked up so they put us on a non pet floor. We were barely gone an hour before the hotel called us on our cell phone and told us that someone complained about dog barking and we need to come back to the room immediately and stay with the dog. When we got back to the room our dog was not barking at all. Over the course of the next few hours while we were in our room the hotel called us 2 times and send security to our room 2 times. The security guard even asked if we actually do have a dog with us because he was outside of our room and did not hear anything. We finally left for dinner at 8:30 and when we came home 2 hours later the security guard was at our door again listening for dog barking. He AGAIN told us he had been outside of our room and did not hear anything. The hotel put us on the wrong floor because they were over booked, this is not our fault. They completely ruined our anniversary weekend with all the calls and security guard visits. They also told us we need to stay in our room with our dog, if we wanted to sit in a room and not leave we could have saved a lot of money and stayed home. They hotel sent us a survey about our visit and we detailed all of this in the survey. A manger from the hotel called us afterwards and blamed all of this on us, never apologized or took any responsibility. Save yourself a few hundred dollars and stay in a great Airbnb as there are many that are $100-200 dollars cheaper and have free parking (hotel is $50) and still a great location. In addition to the horrible experience the rooms are old and look old and not taken care of. I was expecting such a nice room for the price and it is far from that. I will NEVER stay at another Loews hotel and will let everyone know what a terrible experience we had there. They are obviously a brand that cannot be trusted because if you have any problems they will blame everything on you.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. I apologize that your anniversary was not all that you had planned. I will work with security and the front office to ensure that pet disturbances are handled in a better manner in the future.
