Stayed here two nights over Memorial Day Weekend. It had just converted to a Motto by Hilton shortly before, after opening a few years prior as the Pod Philly. The hotel projects a cool, hip vibe in its downstairs area with its restaurant. lounge and cafe and that is probably its major appeal to its targeted demographic. The staff was friendly and welcoming but frankly the room itself was meh. Small rooms with minimalist IKEA type furniture, no carpeting, open shelving but no closets and no refrigerator were fine for the price point I paid but did not in any way project hip or cool, at least not to me. The towel hook next to the shower was very loose and the bedsheet was too small for the mattress. Housekeeping apparently wrestled it onto the very tip of the corner of the bed but it instantly popped off once you actually sat on the bed. Both of these should have been caught before having a guest check in but I did mention it to the front desk when checking out and they apologized and promised to ensure it was addressed. The location is great, within a 20-25 minute walk of Independence Hall and the historic attractions and about the same to the museums along Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Bottom line, it was perfectly functional with a good bed and at around the $100/night price point is a decent choice. But many...More
