My partner and I were visiting family in the suburbs of Philly and friends who live in the city, so we decided to take the train up from DC and stay in Rittenhouse Square / center city. I generally like Hyatts and often redeem awards at them, but saw a great cash rate for a weekend stay and decided on this Hyatt Centric over some other more boutique options.
This is a fantastic hotel as a base in central Philadelphia. The hotel must have been recently designed because the design elements are top notch in the public spaces and the rooms, giving a modern, fun feel to it. Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly.
The rooms themselves are spacious (we stayed in a standard King) and very well designed for storage. They thought of all the little details many hotels forget about, like towel hooks outside the shower, coat hooks in the hallway, automatic lighting under the bed for if you get up in the middle of the night, and ample outlets by the beds.
Whether it's for business or leisure, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. It is walking distance to most of the main sights in Philly, seems to have easy access to public transit (although we didn't use any), and is a wonderful hotel to stay at.
Another win for Hyatt in my mind, and this stay alone will definitely make me consider the Hyatt Centric brand more often in the future.
