I paid $326 for a room with no bath towels. After multiple requests, some finally arrived at 9:43 am. Unbelievable!

This hotel is struggling. As I checked in, I heard others having serious problems. Rooms weren’t ready. Rooms were dirty. Rooms had no towels… it’s hard to imaging this from a Hilton property.

Avoid!

I am a single guy in my early 20s without a whole lot of experience making hotel reservations. I made this reservation for Dec 28-31, Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center- Convention Center through TMobile Rocket Travel to attend a nearby concert. I accidentally booked one day too early and wasn't able to get there early. I paid over $600 for this reservation. I was on the phone several times over the last three days with the hotel and the third party to try to secure my reservation- not even asking for a refund for this first day, but to be able to arrive on the second day of the reservation without having my whole reservation canceled. I was told that I would get an email with this approval at any moment. I waited and waited and called and called. Finally, I was told that my request was denied at the last minute. I never received any email. Having this request denied, which I have never heard of anything so outrageous, is already grounds for a scathing review. At this point, I was thinking of ways I could possibly get to the hotel a day early. I was going with a group from out of state, so this was difficult, but I was figuring out how I could go a day early. I told the hotel about my struggles and was advised by this hotel that I should cancel my whole reservation and ask for a refund instead. This way I could use the refund to get a different lodging situation. I had an email sent to the hotel and the third party asking for something in writing concerning this refund. Not even a courteous response. Nothing. Today I got a notice saying my whole reservation is canceled and I will receive no refund at all. They told me to cancel my reservation giving me false hope that this was an answer. This doesn't even mention that now I can not attend the concert and must lose that experience and the cost of the concert as well. THANK YOU HAMPTON INN PHILADELPHIA CENTER. It appears to me that they took advantage of someone who has little experience with navigating corrupt hotel business practices. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

Our room was in the 6th floor facing Race St. There was absolutely no view of the city at all. Just walls and parking lots. The suite was exactly as shown, which I appreciated. It contains a refrigerator and a microwave. However, there's no table to sit and eat. No chair in the bedroom. I thought the bedding carried a faint smell of someone else's perfume. The bathroom sink was clogged. They sent someone to clear it out which he did but when he left, there was a greasy yellow/orange scum left on the whole bowl of the sink. The guy left it that way. We called and someone came up to the room and cleaned it. But I couldn't unsee the disgusting mess.

Room tip: It is in an excellent location for the Reading Terminal Market, the Convention Center, Chinatown, etc.

Very busy Army/Navy football weekend. Great location downtown. Close to train system. The room was clean and comfortable, staff were helpful and friendly. One of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve experienced and the gentleman taking care of the breakfast area was hardworking, attentive and friendly. I would stay here again.

Had a terrible experience here. I had a reservation for here for over 6 months. When I went to check in, they oversold the hotel on a convention weekend and gave me walking papers to a hotel over 30 minutes away. I already parked in a no in/out privileges and the rude staff laughed at me when I asked if transportation would be provided. When trying to get a reason why they would oversell so much on a convention weekend, the staff was very rude, went away, and then threated to call the police if I didn't leave their property. I attempted to contact Hilton Hotels & Resorts but complaints are ignored and sent to the Hotel itself. Which led to the copy/paste "sorry this happened, we hope to serve you better in the future". No admission of fault, no "sorry, we will not oversell our rooms on a convention weekend". It doesn't even make sense to oversell a hotel when they require a credit card to book the room and will charge you if you don't cancel within 3 days anyway. I feel bad for anyone who can not make their stay, get charged, and would never have had a room anyway. This is a terrible practice and I hope that you avoid this hotel if you are travelling from a distance away or flying into the city, expecting to have a hotel next to the convention center. I can understand a room not being available for some reasons. a broken pipe, electrical issue, etc. But the stack of walking papers was at least 20 pages thick. I can't trust this hotel nor any other Hilton Hotels & Resorts to honor a reservation.
