There were pros and cons to this hotel, but unfortunately I think the cons kind of outweighed the pros in this case, which is unusual for a Bonvoy branded hotel.
The hotel is in a good location in terms of walkability--we were able to easily walk to Reading Market and the historic district. There area a lot of homeless folks in the area and some are a little aggressive, but we didn't mind them too much. At night, however, it's a different story--it was incredibly loud in this neighborhood all night long, with people yelling from the street, music blaring and traffic noise. We had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows on 2 walls on the 3rd floor and we didn't get much sleep. I'd recommend requesting a room that doesn't face City Hall and maybe that would be quieter.
As far as the room, that was our biggest disappointment (room 302--avoid it). It was nice to have a full kitchen, but that's about where it ended. The pull out couch was horrible to sleep on (plus we had to ask 3 times before we got blankets and pillows for it). They really shouldn't advertise that as a sleeping option it was so uncomfortable, plus it took up most of the room once pulled out.
The heating and cooling didn't work right--the thermostat said 78 the entire time we were there, but it was freezing. And, sleeping on the pullout couch with few blankets, I actually slept in my coat one night.
The worst, however, was the bathroom--it barely functioned. The shower was extremely tempermental, going from scalding hot to freezing cold, plus you had to squeeze yourself into the corner of the shower. The toilet flushed very similar to that on an airplane and was incredibly loud, embarrassingly waking people in the night. The sink didn't drain properly.
The staff were friendly and breakfast was decent, but those didn't so much make up for everything else. They just have a lot of maintenance to do and updates that could be made. I travel a lot and it was the worst Bonvoy property I've stayed at in several years.
