We went for a family getaway over the July 4th weekend. The Hilton at Penn's Landing is well situated on the east end of the city. If you are up for a reasonable walk, South Street is not far (make sure to hit Jim's!!) as well as the Liberty Bell. The Hilton sits on a small boardwalk with a couple of food vendors and some paddle boats you can rent. As far as the stay, unfortunately while we booked a suite in advance, they ended up putting us in a room with two queen beds and we had one member of our group sleep on a air mattress (they also don't provide roll-away beds???). Make sure you double confirm your room reservation in advance. Outside of being in the wrong sized room, the room we were put in was nice. There is a restaurant in the hotel, which serves a standard dinner fare. Unfortunately the mechanical team was having problems and the elevators were not running smoothly, the average wait was 8-10 minutes for an elevator. We often just took the stairs from the 10th floor. Also while there is a parking garage, getting to it is definitely not a simple task - multiple elevators and long walks. The shining star of the team there is one of the bellman staff named Tim. He went out of this way to help us with getting in and out of the hotel,...We went for a family getaway over the July 4th weekend.
