We stayed here for 3 nights, and what a lovely stay! I will go on to state the positives first:

1) Small fenced in private back yard, with ample seating
2) Loft upstairs with large flat screen tv
3) Large shower with a door leading to the outside
4) Jacuzzi style tub on the 2nd floor

We loved this place, however, the website is not accurate in the pictures or descriptions. It is not right downtown, it is a small walk from downtown. Our only complaint was the accuracy of the website compared to the house when we got there-otherwise it would have received 5 stars :) The owner, Brian, (also owns the Brickhouse Inn up the street) was very courteous and gave us some insight to the town.

We stayed here for three nights and it was more than adequate. Our only two problems were that it was a weekend during which a motorcycle club was in town so we constantly heard the rumbles of bikes going by (since it is so close to town) and the shower in the downstairs bathroom has an exterior door that actually opens to the back yard (kind of weird). Other than that, it's well stocked, beautifully furnished and very clean. We overall enjoyed our stay here.

My husband and I spent a week in Gettysburg for our honeymoon June 2012. We wanted to stay somewhere where we could feel like we were a part of the city. Everything is within walking distance, as other reviews have stated. We ate our fill everyday with no regrets due to this! The Cricket house was homey, cute, and very clean. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We spent two nights at the Cricket House. The cottage is clean, the linens are like home. We spent our evenings relaxing in the garden setting. Everything is within walking distance (except the the farther battle fields) We walked to dinner, shops, the Farmers Market, coffee shop. Deb recommended good places and we found others. The Cricket House is a great place to stay during your trip to Gettysburg!

We stayed at the Cricket House last week and had a great time. The house is one of the best places we have stayed, and the backyard is fabulous and peaceful whether it is in the morning with a cup of coffee or late at night while the crickets are doing their thing. I didn't know why it was called The Cricket House until I spent some time in the yard at night.
