Yearning to be back in Italy, the next best thing we could do was go to Bagby Pizza. If you have been to Italy, then you know that Bagby’s Pizza is the closest you will get to finding thin crust pizza like they make in Italy. It transports me right back to Rome. Last night, four of us started with a Cobb salad (romaine, Applewood smoked bacon, hard-boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and blue cheese dressing) and a Greek salad (arugula, cucumber, Kalamata olives, feta, red onion, tomato, and fresh herb vinaigrette). They were crisp and delicious. On to our pizzas, we had a large Gourmet Vegetable that was loaded with fresh herbs, spinach, roasted crimini mushrooms, asparagus, roasted artichokes, Grana Padano, mozzarella, provolone, and asiago cheeses. The “McTernan" was a large pie with house-made tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, house-made sweet fennel sausage, and pepperoni. Wow, they really hit the spot. We highly recommend Bagby Pizza – you will think you are in Italy!
