My wife and I walked in after seeing it on our way to eat breakfast. The staff was friendly and the place looked quaint. My wife had a croissant, which she said was good. I got a small bag of macarons and they weren't all that good. They were hard and not all that tasty. I wouldn't get them again.
We ordered almond croissants and a peach tart and they were delicious. We were recently in Paris and this croissant was as close as we have ever had in the USA. The lady ,owner , behind counter was nice.
This is a lovely little coffee shop located between Timonium and Baltimore. It's a sweet stop if you want to sit and sip some coffee and have a little desert. I've been there solo and with friends. The staff are very friendly, they have little tables so it's cozy for a conversation or if you're sitting by yourself. There's outdoor seating which is lovely when the weather is nice.
They also serve breakfast sandwiches, almond tarts etc.
Very good pastries (also very, very overpriced). Cold, unfriendly staff and management.
The place caters to a mostly affluent, snobby crowd. I would have given a higher rating if not for the attitude of the staff/management. Also, while the pastries are quite good, I really don't appreciate shelling out $20-$30 for what is basically coffee and dessert. It's a shame that the atmosphere isn't more pleasant and inviting. The place has so much potential to be a beacon of French culture. For instance, they could occasionally play French music which they do not. (they could even provide or sell French newspapers/magazines). What I find most unpleasant, again, is the attitude of the people that work there. They seem to imply that they are doing you a favor by letting you spend substantial amounts of your money there. It could be a great place for good food and times, but the surly manner and unwelcoming behavior of the owners really dampens the mood. I would get desserts to go, or simply head elsewhere.
