Its toughvto find outdoor seating, Valley Inn has plenty. We had a large group, everyone loved the food. Skip large salads, small were generous, salmon entree very good and fried oysters starter wascexcellent.

This is my second review for this restaurant, the first time I was not impressed, this time was an entirely better visit. My friends and I dined outside, which was very nice. Our server was patient and efficient. I ordered the applewood bacon scallops, served with corn emulsion, lobster risotto and red pepper coulis.
The scallops were flavorful and succulent, I loved the risotto. The portion was enough that I took some home and enjoyed it later. My friends also enjoyed their meals. I would return to the restaurant just to order this selection again.

Have been to The Valley Inn many times for lunch and brunch and always have had good experiences...this was to be our first visit for dinner. We made our reservation on Open Table - which is a service that the restaurant obviously subscribes to. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time (party of 3). While we were waiting to be helped, a couple came in, said they didn't have a reservation and were immediately taken in by the hostess. When the hostess returned, we were told we would have to wait 10 minutes. When our name was called, we were walked through the dining area, and saw a number of empty tables, but the hostess continued walking through and started to go to the outside seating. It's 90F with high humidity in Maryland - we indicated that we would rather eat indoors. We were then told that there were no available tables inside, and if we wanted to wait it would be 35-40 minutes. When we spoke with the manager we were told that people who call into the restaurant for reservations are given priority over "online" reservations - a service that they voluntarily subscribed to. If they are not going to honor Open Table reservations on the same level as a call-in they should not utilize the service, or they should make it clear on Open Table that they are going to be accommodated behind call-in reservations.

Our first visit to the Valley Inn made us wonder why it had taken so long. Having lived in the area for over 40 years we used Fathers Day as a reason to finally try it. In a beautiful rustic, country in the suburbs setting, Valley Inn delivered. With multiple dining options like bar, patio, inside or outside you will definitely find a table to fit your mood. The menu is kind of limited but it has something for everyone. And what it does it does REALLY well. With LARGE, excellently prepared and presented dishes it was a hit for us. The service was also extremely accommodating, professional & friendly. Valley Inn earned a second visit from us.

Waiter seemed New and didn't know answers to multiple questions. Told us they are short staffed on fathers day so food would take a while. Egg sandwich had shells in it and other food was very mediocre. Wouldn't go back except for maybe drinks and appetizers.
