I sure hate to see places like this torn down for a strip mall and parking lot. Very sad.
This place started in 1924 as a BBQ shack and by 1936 it's what you see before you today. The round design was influenced by the Thunderbolt Casino. As you sit down to eat just try to imagine how it was in 1936 with it's revolving bandstand, good food, good booze, and everyone dancing. They still have the buttons to push at the tables to ring for service.
I had their batter-less fried chicken which was excellent. My husband liked his NY Strip. They also had a good beer selection. Our server, Samantha, was awesome. Everyone working in there was very friendly. They all seemed to be very sad it will soon be a parking lot.
If you are anywhere in the area you really need to plan on stopping here. It's really a step back into time.
