This bakery/cafe is simply wonderful!

It is open and airy - and has outdoor seating as well.

They have a huge selection of croissants and pastries (the almond croissant that I got was delicious). Thier hot breakfasts are also very good (my Shakshuka was notable).

Bonus: The neighborhood is nice for a post breakfast walk.

While visiting family in Boston, we stopped here for lunch. Excellent variety of choices; very good food and coffee. We had three lunch items: vegetable quinoa bowl, fattoush salad, and Turkey BLAT(bacon, lettuce, avocado & tomato) sandwich. Each was delicious. Bakery desserts are irresistible. Outstanding coffees. Items that others were eating all looked tempting. Must come back here when back in Boston!

Tatte is great for buying pastries or for brunch or lunch (try the shakshuka with meatballs), but it's almost always packed. If you can manage to snag a table, particularly outside, it's a great way to get a little feeling of sitting in a European cafe, but be prepared for disappointment and have a to-go option in mind. I recommend the chocolate hazelnut twist.

An unexpected treasure between Coolidge Corner, Brookline and Back Bay, Boston. It may be one of only two bakeries that bake the decidedly french Kouign-amann pastry - similar to a muffin top shaped carmelized croissant. (The other Is Joanne Chang's bakery Flour.)
Outdoor seating is a must if you'd like to be able to hear and be heard. Just last Sunday, my friend and I enjoyed the Shakshouka and the Spring Vegetable Quinoa Bowl while families celebrating various graduations meandered by and a family biking event passed by on temporarily closed Beacon Street.

It's always hard to get a seat here, but the food is fabulous - fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I especially love the Green & Nutty Salad and the shakshuka!
