Great price under $100, but nicest surprise was size of room, 2 queen size beds, double sinks, refrigerator, microwave, free breakfast, restaurant and bar, usually room amenities with glass cups and ceramic coffee mugs, very friendly, responsive staff - both at front desk and maintenance, pool and exercise room, and lovely decor and landscaping. This is a super value and enjoyable.

Clarion Inn is located on Rt 17, easy access from RT1, RT3, I-95. Fredericksburg is a 10 minute drive.

Fast food all around, FREE breakfast included, lovely buffet, juices, eggs, sausage, pancakes/french toast, coffee, milk, water, cereal . . . Restaurant is Yak-A-Doos (I thought the name was silly!). Opens in afternoon for heavy appetizers, dinner at 5pm, bar/lounge and a very nice dining room.

Rooms are clean, big tv, easy access -- no elevators so if you don't do stairs, ask for a 1st floor room, pool, fitness center. business center FREE WiFi.

Recommend.

Room tip: no elevators, if you have mobility issues, ask for 1st floor.

Spend a little extra & stay somewhere else. This place is a dump. Our room had a heavy urine smell by the sinks, a rusty broken bolt on the toilet seat, & one of the lamps by the bed was broke. If it hadn't been close to midnight when we checked in, we never would have stayed. Told the front desk of the issues, but they refuse to even give us a partial refund. Free breakfast was sub-par, ceiling tiles had water damage spots, & salt shakers were clogged up & rusty. Disgusting!!!

The Clarion Inn is a perfect place for a stopover as you drive up and down I-95. It is just far enough south to not pay those outrageously high Washington, DC hotel prices. And! You are just beyond most of Washington DC's notorious vehicular traffic that usually involves numerous parking lots on I-95.
My wife and I chose the Clarion Inn as it accepts dogs in their rooms. Despite dogs being cleaner than many kids, it is difficult to find hotels that accept pets, let alone one like the Clarion Inn that does not tack on an outrageous high pet fee. Apparently, this Clarion Inn has had good experiences with pets. Besides, if one makes a mess of the room, the credit card can always be charged.
Upon entering our room, it was cool as the air conditioner was running. What a delight! How many times have you checked in to your room to find it very stuffy? How about a stuffy room on one of those hot Southern summer days? The Clarion made it our entry perfect.
The room is a good size. Our room had two double beds. We wish a King size bed were an option at this Clarion Inn. A double bed is really not big enough for two adults. Our beds were comfortable. Everything in the room worked, and it was clean. What else can you ask for? It is a room to get a good night's rest before moving on.
The free coffee offered in the room is terrible. To be fair, most hotel coffee is not worth drinking. It does not matter where you stay, be it a three-star hotel or an upscale hotel. We went next door to the Wawa to get our caffeine fix before hitting the road to Philadelphia.
Everyone was very friendly at this Fredericksburg hotel. It was a pleasant check-in, especially with the live '80s music coming from the adjoining bar and restaurant. There are two swimming pools and a whirlpool at this hotel, but we did not use them as we went straight to sleep.
Though the reviews are all over the place, you will find this Clarion Inn to be a great stopover, especially for people with dogs. We make numerous road trips from North Carolina to Philadelphia thus this Clarion Inn will be on our itinerary for future vacations.

First, price was under $70. It included a free breakfast of eggs, sausage, French toast, pancakes, potatoes, fruit, pastry, juice and coffee and cereal.

Room had a frig, microwave, two sinks, large TV and free WiFi. Saw no bugs, bed was comfy and an easy plugin for a cpat. Restaurant and bar are connected to the property.
Only complaint is the noisy below window air conditioner.
