This was just the place for us! The hot springs were a perfect cure for sore muscles and cool temperatures. The hot, running potable water was a unique feature that came in handy. The price for camping can't be beat, and we had a gorgeous site right next to the river. The road in is very bumpy, but we were able to navigate it with our small trailer. There are a lot of goats along the road to provide entertainment.

We came in on Hwy 15 out of Silver city. Big mistake. The north faces had residual snow that made some of the hairpin turns treacherous. Recommend access using Hwy 35 from the east as it is wider, lower and seemed to be regularly plowed. Once there it was great. Camp host Carla friendly and attentive. We bought firewood for an extra $5 and roasted smores. Pools were about 102-104F and doable for our kids 3 and 5. We soaked long, camped well and when the sun entered thr canyon (a little late this time of year) played in the sun. Our little one petted the horses. Next time I'd stay at least 2-3 days. Will go down as a highlight of this entire trip...

Nestled along the Gila River, this facility is $6 per person to camp and enjoy the historic hot springs where Geronimo spent time. Three soaking pools of varying temperatures with pebble bottoms and hot flowing fountains. Peaceful, clean, and simple. We will return.

It is my dream campground-a river right behind us, wonderful hot pools, lots of shade, magnificent setting. The owners, Alan and Carla are very attentive and informative. The outhouse, while immaculate-had quite an odor...I will definitely be back!

First you take a narrow twisty road 32 miles north of Silver City, then you take a right down a very narrow dirt road past horse stables and goat corrals until you reach a sign that states "Campground". Turn left for just a bit and then right into paradise. Allen and Carla Campbell have built a wonderful campground with 12 spots and 3 large hot springs. There are only restrooms for services but you can have all the water you want, at 147 degrees! Day trippers are also welcome, for a slightly less fee.
We also made arrangements with another Campbell, Becky, to take a horseback trip and we enjoyed easy access to the local store (with free Internet but no cell service) and Gila Cliff Dwellings just up the way. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: This is a campground, not a hotel. My ratings are for campground facilities and the surrounding area.
