Owner description: Colorado River Discovery offers the most fantastic one day rafting trips anywhere on the mighty Colorado River. We provide half-day and full day tours that are perfect for the entire family (kids aged 4 and up). Departing from the scenic town of Page, Arizona, your trip will begin with an exciting and exclusive ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. At river level, with the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a comfortable pontoon raft for your journey downstream. While on the River, you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river in the western United States. Your experienced guide will tell the story of the area’s soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell and others, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.A stop to view an impressive set of ancient petroglyphs will offer a you chance to stretch your legs and enjoy your lunch while bearing witness to the area’s former inhabitance by ancient native cultures. If you choose, you may also refresh yourself by wading in the cold, clear river. Come and visit the river that we love... You'll be inspired!

Colorado River Discovery offers many tour options. We booked the AM slot canyon/PM raft tour. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy, but we still had a good time. We took an open-air hummer to the canyon. Guide James was very informative and seemed to be having as good a time as we were. Tour included a box lunch back at the center. After lunch, we took a bus to the river where we boarded the pontoon boat/raft. Guide Nate was fun, and also very knowledgeable about the area.

We had a wonderful experience on this trip. Everything was well organized. Brent was our guide and he did an excellent job. He is very knowledgeable, and obviously loves the area and his job! He made the trip a memorable one. We had 4 in our family, including 2 sons in their mid-twenties. I was worried they might be bored with this being a smooth water float - but they loved it too. Beautiful scenery, lots of interesting information and history from Brent - not sure how you would not love this! Our only issue was the time zone - even though our GPS made it look like this was in EDT, it was in EST - so we headed out from the Grand Canyon and suddenly thought we were going to be late, but ended up almost an hour early. It might help to add that to the website (or maybe we missed it). We would definitely recommend this trip, and recommend Brent as your guide!! Thanks for a great time Brent!!!

We did the full-day river tour on May 25 with two 11 year olds and two 15 year olds. They loved it. Even though the weather was cooler than we had hoped, the girls still rode on the outside tubes and played in the very cold water on one of the beach stops. Beautiful, awe-inspiring views and we even saw the wild horses. Bistro lunch was excellent. Our guide, Brent, was terrific and very knowledgeable of the history of the river and area - very entertaining with stories and playing his Native American flute. A great relaxing trip down the Colorado River in Glen Canyon.

We planned as carefully as we could for our Grand Circle tour so of course we planned for a cruise to Rainbow Bridge. We chose the morning trip thinking that the afternoon could be very hot....well it was a cool day and it never did get hot! We enjoyed the trip regardless of the temperature. On the way to the Bridge there was an audio tape we listened to that pointed out several things, the captain also described, explained and pointed out features. It was a 55 mile trip and the very best thing was when we wound our way through the narrow canyons to get to Rainbow Bridge, it really was breath taking. Where we docked there were very large carp that greeted the boat, they were hoping for snacks. There also were very clean restrooms and the trail was very easy to walk. I would recommend this trip although we all thought (there were 4 of us) that it got a bit boring on the ride back to Page. The whole trip took close to 7 hours, be sure to take something to eat, the company provides coffee and water on the boat.

Full day river ride: A great calm raft ride inside the Grand Canyon. It's quite a different view from the bottom. The company is very professional, well organized and accommodating. Everything they promise on their web site is fulfilled.
