We were the first to arrive when it opened. I was excited about the chicken gyro, but it was cold as ice; the server said it is supposed to be "warm". My husband's dish was barely warm. The cheeseburger soup was delicious, but tepid. Poor service all around......we couldn't find our server to ask her to bring our dishes back. So, we ended up with leftovers, which we couldn't bear to eat. It went to the compost bin.

After a long drive up from south of the Twin Cities in the middle of December, we landed here for dinner. The only place open in town. And we got amazing fresh food, great local music from Bump Blomberg. This is our favorite place in Grand Marais to eat. They are now brewing their own beer too, great local craft beer on tap. Great atmosphere, local place with local color. No pretense here!

What a cool spot right in the heart of Grand Marais. The tap list is fantastic and they also offer their own brews. The thing we enjoyed most was the high level of food on the menu. The Tavern Burger is worth getting and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli was delicious.

Stopped in on a day trip up to Grand Marais. It's off season so it's a little slow but the GFT isn't taking any short cuts. Good was excellent! Can't wait to come back a check out the patio on a warmer day.

The food here is outstanding. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. It's a little remote but worth the drive.
