We can here from Florida when we had to evacuate from Hurricane Irma. By the time we decided to leave and needed to make reservations there were not too many choices left. This is a downtown hotel that used to be the Sears store. While there is parking in the basement, formerly the Toy Department, it is limited and costs $20 plus tax per night. The hotel has been totally remodeled and is very nice. There is a small snack bar in the lobby but no breakfast is included in the price of the room. The room was comfortable with a small bathroom. Conveniently located a few blocks from Trolley Lines and the French Quarter.

The room was very comfortable and the service staff very responsive. Pleased with everything except the phone and wifi. When I tried to call out, local or using a phone card, I got a busy signal after dialing. After several attempts, I asked the front desk for help. At first they thought the phone was faulty. After several attempts to fix, the manager said the phone "had not been activated." I was told that unless the customer asks, the phone only calls to the front desk. I've never had such a situation before. I suggested to the manager that there should be a sign on the phone about this -- she said there was one. Not true.
Also the wifi was poor, slow, erratic, but that is typical with wifi. Why not provide hard wired internet access as a option?
Why does the survey not allow anything but "excellent"? I am trying to code "very good" under service and it keeps coming up "excellent".

Nice hotel, little noisy- doors seem to have a large gap at the bottom. Slightly less fluffy pillows- easy to get a pain in neck. Really cool looking lights. Great model of part of New Orleans in lobby. Maybe a 3 block walk to Bourbon Street and the French quarter. 20 minute walk to WW II museum.
The highlight of the hotel was Dashone- the evening desk clerk. Super friendly, polite, knowledgeable. He turned us onto a hole in the wall neighborhood bar that served cold beer and hot panini muffaletta. He recommended a swamp tour for us too, he handled all the reservations. This hotel is lucky to have Dashone as an employee.

My daughter and I stayed at Baronne Plaza again; first time for my son. The staff were wonderful, caring and efficient. The room was clean, inviting and comfortable. Extra "kudos" to check-in, front desk and breakfast coffee shop.
The lobby lighting was a little dim during the day but it was much brighter in evening. The outside décor was changed/painted silver & white. I like the old more golden color for its art deco style (as I remember it). That being said, the comfort, service and room accommodation is tops. Since we were meeting at the Convention Center, we were in walking distance and enjoyed that every much...giving us a chance to "tour" as we walked. Also the hotel is not far from the French Quarter.

I started visiting the Wyndham Garden Baronne Plaza New Orleans during a Thanksgiving stay in 2016 since then I have visited five more times with and additional visit coming this Thanksgiving. The location is truly convenient and in a neighborhood I feel safe discovering. The Quarter is across Canal and I can walk to most places from there. Tons of restaurants in the area as well as a great Dive Bar (Cajun Mike's) that frequented by a lot of locals.

The staff is amazing and super accommodating. Terry in engineering went over and beyond to help me on my last stay and Mark at the front desk is a joy. We come so often we feel like we know him and he has helped us many times over from helping with an early check in, helping us to get into our room after locking ourselves out, letting us borrow and umbrella on a rainy day and just being sure to offer amazing customer service everytime we visit. He even greets us by name he is truly a feather in Wyndham's cap.

The prices are affordable (even during the holidays), the hotel is clean, and I always feel safe there. I consider this place to be my New Orleans home away from home and hope to lay my head there many more times to come.
