Highly recommend. Great New Orleans restaurant in the Central City neighborhood with excellent cuisine and a varied menu with big portions at affordable prices. Offers all the NOLA standards at high of quality. Even better is Cafe Reconciles' mission to assist local young people learn the restaurant business. Love how local chefs contribute. Simple cafe atmosphere. Not fancy but clean and well managed. Take a cab or uber. Local neighborhood isn't the best. I also made a donation to their charitable efforts.

Excellent food and restaurant environment! We had jerk chicken with two sides ($9) and Bananas Foster bread pudding ($4). This has been the cheapest meal we have eaten while here in New Orleans and the best! The jerk had a bit of a kick but not over seasoned, like many places. We had mashed sweet potatoes (perfection), macaroni and cheese (the ultimate comfort food and the real deal), and jalapeño corn muffins (husband said tasty but not spicy). They served bread while waiting, but husband said very bland. Would return here often and love the mission helping youth and young adults to build employment skills!!

This is a wonderful lunch spot. But what makes it even more enjoyable is the fact that it is also a teaching facility for at risk youth. And the kids are great. Nice selection of hot and cold dishes, traditional new Orleans fare, daily specials, and more. Management is excellent and the place has a friendly buzz. Good for singles as well as large parties. I have lunch here at least once a week and I am never disappointed.

The food here is simple, affordable, and tasty. Staff excel at hospitality. Dessert ended up being almost too much, but it was fantastic.

I love the fact that New Orleans is embracing people who might need a leg up and can get their training and experience here. All those who are behind this project have done it right. The wait staff is outstanding and the food is very good. The setting is a great reclaimed space that may or may not have had a restaurant in it before but it's worth an Uber ride to experience. It's one thing to know college students often wait tables but this is going to the ultimate level of being the school and the support these young people need. Bravo! The mac and cheese is delicious!
