We recently stayed at this very lovely B&B. The location is great, being in the Garden District and the stop for the trolley into NO is right across the street. The building has been very carefully restored and is wonderful. The only downside was the breakfast part. The standard "cold" fare was fine, but the "hot" portion was lacking. A microwaved sausage in a blanket one day and doughy microwaved quiche the next. The staff was friendly.

We loved our stay at the Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast. It is a beautifully restored property, with no expense spared. It is located in the wonderful Garden District, and right near the Street Cars which take you everywhere.

Our host Bonnie was so accommodating and helpful. Not only with giving us a good understanding of our B&B, but working with us before our visit and during to ensure our stay in New Orleans was a success.

A real highlight which Bonnie recommended was the Garden District Tour we took (which started right at our accommodation. Also dinner at Commander's Palace which is a 5 minute walk was outstanding.

We could not more highly recommend an accommodation.

This is the first time we have stayed in a B and B in New Orleans and we discovered it was the perfect place for our long weekend NOLA visit. It is in the heart of the Garden District, making walking to Magazine St., Commander's Palace and more very easy. It is right on the streetcar line which we used to go to our favorite beignet place: New Orleans Coffee and Beignets and the French Quarter.

Bonnie, the owner, is gracious and has thought of every detail to make one's visit comfortable. We stayed in the Greenview Suite and our daughter stayed in Magnolia, both on the second floor. Both rooms were spacious and had lovely decor. The baths had large, soft towels and small toiletries, hairdryers, drinking glasses and even a rubber duck! The beds were comfortable. Each room also had an iron and ironing board. She has complimentary snacks in the dining room, plus a hot/cold water cooler and tea. Upstairs is a refrigerator with complimentary soft drinks and an ice machine. Each room had a carafe of sherry. The air-conditioning was excellent as well as plenty of hot water.

We enjoyed the upstairs porch in the morning with our coffee and in the evening shared a bottle of wine. The downstairs living room is another grand place to relax, read or gather.

The Grand Victorian breakfast was delicious with coffee, tea, juice, cereals, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit and one hot selection(ham and cheese croissants, waffles with fresh berries and whipped cream, for example). Our last morning was a early departure and Bonnie left muffins for us!

This B and B is beautifully restored. Bonnie is also very knowledgeable about the area and is helpful with any questions. We loved staying here and will be back on our next visit.

Room Tip: The Greenview is on the street. I found that turning the fan on (not auto) for the night made the room quiet. Romantic room.

What a wonderful place to stay for our wedding anniversary revisit to New Orleans. The GVBB is perfectly situated in the Garden District and provides easy access to all points of interest. We walked to Commander's Palace (our favorite) and hopped on the trolley to the French Quarter.

Room Tip: The Oak Alley room was subject to emergency vehicle noise on the side street.

Frank, Knowing that you were celebrating several things while in NOLA with your friends, I'm glad that you enjoyed your time spent here in my home and city. Sorry again that your friends had to cut their trip a bit short, but these things are unavoidable. Thanks for the compliments and for reviewing my B&B. I hope that you may return to New Orleans again one day!

I stumbled into this very nicely restored Victorian B&B by accident while looking for a place to stay for a conference downtown. It's right on the streetcar line, which is very convenient for getting around. I was able to walk everywhere in the Garden District very easily, including shops along St. Charles and along Magazine. And it's a block away from Lafayette Cemetery #1, so it was easy to wander around the above-ground crypts.
The Evergreen room was nicely appointed with amazingly high ceilings (14 feet?) The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. I liked the touch of complimentary sherry in the rooms and the 2nd floor veranda. The house was very quiet. I enjoyed meeting some of the other guests at breakfast.
As a business traveler it was a little difficult not having a desk in my room, but I managed.

Andrew, Thanks for your feedback about your stay at my home last month. I was lucky that you found my place as you were a great guest! Often conventioneers in town do not look beyond the busy business district or French Quarter for lodging, but I was happy you did and found that my Garden District area was also convenient.
Thank you for your feedback about a desk in Evergreen. I don't know where I'd put one in there with that large window seat. I added the wooden lap desk to help, but it is not a full sized desk for sure. Glad that you could make the room work for you anyway.
Maybe you'll come back for a pleasure trip to NOLA sometime and consider the Grand Victorian again!
