We recently had a wonderful week in this fabulous hotel. The staff were all lovely and could not have been more helpful. We were given an upgrade as it was our wedding anniversary and we’d been slightly disappointed with the view from our original balcony. We stayed half board and the food at this hotel was outstanding with the usual large buffet selection for breakfast. Cake in the afternoon (which we never actually had as we were away up a mountain), then in the evening a sumptuous six courses of high quality food. The hotel was situated very close to both the train station and bus route but even with our balcony window open at night we were never disturbed by any vehicular or other sound. The grounds of the hotel were stunning with ample seating and shade. They have their own tiny chapel in the garden which also has a beautiful water lily pond. There was an outdoor swimming pool with its own natural plant filtration system. There was also a really warm indoor pool and jacuzzi. We had a game of ten pin bowling in their own underground three lane bowling alley. We weren’t there long enough to do or see everything on offer. There is an underground passage which links the St. Josef, which our room was in, to the main hotel. We did use this facility when it was raining one day. If you like antiques the hotel, which has been designed to a very high standard has dotted around it loads of antique furniture and it is amazing how the hotel gels with a real mix of ancient and modern.

It was very easy to get around and there were several cable cars close by to get us up the mountains. We made full use of the Ziller cards (100 euros each) which allow you to go up and down once each day. You also use the card for the train and buses. It is definitely a good buy.

I’d go back to this hotel tomorrow even though there is a long transfer time of three hours to and from Salzburg Airport. It is much closer if you can get a flight to Innsbruck.

I don’t know if anyone who works at the hotel actually reads these reviews but I simply want to say to them thank you again for a wonderful stay.More
