The Elizabeth Hotel is an elegant hotel with excellent service, in a convenient location in Mayrhofen in the beautiful Zillertal valley.
I stayed for a week in August to do some hiking with my OH, and we both really appreciated the excellent hotel facilities (especially the stunning indoor pool), the friendly and welcoming staff, and the superb restaurant.
I travel a lot on business, and what really made the Elizabeth stand out for me was the superb attention to detail. We arrived as part of a large group, and the hotel had all of our guest registration cards laid out ready, but rather than have everyone wait in a queue after a long journey, we were taken to the bar and provided with mocktails while we completed the registration details and then were given our room keys. It was all hassle-free.
Similarly, the lovely Julianna took care of all of the guests in the restaurant, remembering everyone's names and nationality/languages. She really made us feel looked after and is a credit to the hotel. The qualify of ingredients and presentation in the five-course evening meals was something to really look forward to after a long hike, Fortunately, the portion sizes were sensible!

Some of the other reviewers have commented on the rooms being a bit warm in summer (as they do not have air conditioning). We found that having the doors closed/locked but tilted open from the top provided sufficient ventilation to keep the room cool, and closing the electric shutters during the day while we were out hiking kept the room cool, so this wasn't a problem for us.
I have previously stayed at some high-end hotels in the Alps, including the Schloss Lebenberg (Kitsbuhel) and Park Beausite (Zermatt), but the Elizabeth has now become my new favourite. We are planning to come back for two weeks in 2023!More
