The Elizabeth Hotel is an elegant hotel with excellent service, in a convenient location in Mayrhofen in the beautiful Zillertal valley.

I stayed for a week in August to do some hiking with my OH, and we both really appreciated the excellent hotel facilities (especially the stunning indoor pool), the friendly and welcoming staff, and the superb restaurant.

I travel a lot on business, and what really made the Elizabeth stand out for me was the superb attention to detail. We arrived as part of a large group, and the hotel had all of our guest registration cards laid out ready, but rather than have everyone wait in a queue after a long journey, we were taken to the bar and provided with mocktails while we completed the registration details and then were given our room keys. It was all hassle-free.

Similarly, the lovely Julianna took care of all of the guests in the restaurant, remembering everyone's names and nationality/languages. She really made us feel looked after and is a credit to the hotel. The qualify of ingredients and presentation in the five-course evening meals was something to really look forward to after a long hike, Fortunately, the portion sizes were sensible!

Some of the other reviewers have commented on the rooms being a bit warm in summer (as they do not have air conditioning). We found that having the doors closed/locked but tilted open from the top provided sufficient ventilation to keep the room cool, and closing the electric shutters during the day while we were out hiking kept the room cool, so this wasn't a problem for us.

I have previously stayed at some high-end hotels in the Alps, including the Schloss Lebenberg (Kitsbuhel) and Park Beausite (Zermatt), but the Elizabeth has now become my new favourite. We are planning to come back for two weeks in 2023!

The Elisabeth is a lovely hotel, situated in the beautiful Zillertal valley conveniently close to the cable cars. It suited us to fly into Salzburg and catch a train to Mayrhofen, which was really easy and only took a couple of hours.
Breakfast is buffet style with a very friendly man cooking eggs on request. They serve snack (cake, meats, bread etc) in the afternoon (if you can squeeze it in) and a delicious 5 course meal in the evening (dining room is run very efficiently by Julianna assisted by very friendly 2 young waitresses). All the hotel staff we met were polite and helpful.
The spa is spotless and a relaxing refuge after a busy day. Our bedroom was very clean and modern and quiet.
We joined Otto, the hotel walking guide and loved every walk with him and our fellow companions. Otto was considerate of everyone in the group tailoring each walk accordingly. He is very knowledgeable of the area and his love of the Zillertal valley shines through. He took us to some amazing cosy huts for lunch serving homemade traditional Austrian cuisine. He truly made our holiday wonderful, thanks so much Otto.

A very comfortable 10 day stay in this friendly and well run hotel. Rooms are well appointed and the whole hotel kept very clean and tidy. The food is excellent and restaurant service very attentive. Extensive breakfast buffet is always replenished when needed and eggs cooked to order as required. Breakfast runs until 11am which is a bonus on days when an extra hour in bed is required. Afternoons always offers a selection of cakes and strudels along with soups and salads. Evening meal superb. Pool is a good size compared to most hotels. Well located in the town although on a busy road which can be intrusive during the daytime. The staff are all very good but a special thank you to Balacz, Sophia and Natalie. The adults only concept sets this hotel apart from others in Mayrhofen and is well worth paying the extra for.

As return guests to Hotel Elisabeth it was a pleasure to be able to do so once again following the pandemic. The breakfast is excellent with enough to keep you going until returning for dinner in the evening although it’s difficult not to stop off at one of the many places on the hiking routes for a spot of lunch too. Julianna is a constant at this hotel and runs the restaurant with efficiency and always with a smile. Not forgetting Balazs in the bar who was equally efficient and courteous. The hotel spa facilities provide a haven when the weather is inclement. Our penthouse suite was excellent with its own sun deck and worth the extra expense to feel that little bit special. The in room spa facility was a bonus. We will definitely return in the near future but just hope that we can fly into Innsbruck instead of Salzburg as the 3 hour plus transfer was the only downside on our holiday.
