Family and friends stayed for a week skiiing. Good situation convenient to town and ski bus. Swimming pool and steam room very good and recommend a hydrotherapy session. However, we really were not impressed with the food or attitude of a number of staff members. We ended up locked out of our room as handed key in at reception to return at 10.30pm and find reception locked up and no staff to be found anywhere as gone to bed! We all paid same money for rooms and yet the quality varied drastically from clean and acceptable to very dated 60s style avocado colour bath with brown tiles and horrid dated bedroom decor. Avoid floor 2 !!! Right hand side.. shocking compared to other rooms. Also all 10 of us were individually charged 7 euros each for WiFi that was poor and very hit and miss. Manager Hans and waiting staff were very direct to point of rudeness. Poor attitude of some waiting staff really let the place down. We actually ate out 3 nights despite having paid for hotel meals . This served to highlight how poor both the food and atmosphere was at Hotel Strolz as other places were so vibrant and welcoming in comparison. We class their service to be more of a bed and breakfast service than a hotel as reception is not manned in the evening unless the owners wish to stay up. No point returning early as they are more likely in bed... so ensure supplies in your room as no tea and coffee facilities in room and no access to drinks when reception is closed. Really expect more than that for £900 per person. Do not recommend and will never return. Truly surprised to see positive reviews about food, as all 10 of us found it consistently poor. Proceed with caution .

Positives, clean hotel, bed was comfortable and food was good. Swimming pool and sauna were good.
We did not like that we had to pay for WiFi, per device. WiFi reception was very bad. The room we had was a bit noisy.
While there is an area to have a drink there is no proper bar.

This Hotel was so much better than we expected for the money. Room/balcony was lovely, great shower! Beautiful big sitting room and dinning room, good sized pool (15m) sunbed/sauna. The manager was so very helpful and could direct you to any place or bus stop you required. The food was absolutely delicious and so much of it, evening meal was 4 courses. Everywhere was clean and well maintained. We will go back here again!

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony facing into town gave a lovely view at night but all views were lovely.

About the hotel location:
The hotel located at the north west of Mayerhofe, 4 minutes walking from the free shuttle A which giving extra 10 minutes driving to the two main lift facilities to Penken & Ahron.
About the Accommodation:
Rooms are quite big and has double bads and extra single bad. A lot so storage for your clothes and night draw. A lot of lights facilities, and large balcony. There are some rooms with showers and some with bath. Hot water all the time.
Dining room and Gastronomy :
One of the best at the hotel service. Large divided spaces room, giving you the filling of carrying the clients need.
4 crosses of great Austrian tradition kitchen. We loved it! every night were supper dishes, and the deserts-ollla super creative chef delicacy.
Public erea. You can choose quite corner or TV watching room. Great!
Ski room:
The first thing I liked about it was the automatic door open that let you "sliding into the room with your skies. Shoes warmer and bunches to change your shows.
Swimming pool big enough to swim.
Nice Sauna clean and extra towels for your enjoyment.
One thing I missed there is an hot tube which I like personally.
General opinion :
I'm strong recommend the hotel for people who can appreciate solid quite caring of the hotel can offer.
Family will find it all good.
One last word about the staff :
I must say that for very long time I calmed that it doesn't matter how modern and beautiful is an hotel,if one or more of the staff members give you a lousy service u will disappointed. IN PENSION STRUTS THEY WERE EXELENT SMILING AND VERY MUCH FOR THE CLIENTS AND IT'S SCHOOL FOR SERVICE!
