The location is brilliant. Bus stop in the front of the hotel, but also only 150 meters walk to Penken lifts.
The room and bathroom were really clean, but also too hot. Bed and pillows were good.
The breakfast was one of the bests in Alps. Real buffet, even the juice blender to fix your own carrot-ginger-apple juice was available!
Really nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi on the roof with really warm water was really relaxing.
The shop in the same building was nice, but quite expensive sortiment. The restaurant was nice, but didn't care about the musician that much.
Free parking and the little grocery store next to the hotel were good bonus.
Really good value for money. Defenitely would visit the same hotel again.

Went on an Ingham's package. Breakfast fantastic -the juicing machine is powerful.
Rooms very large. Open air swimming pool and hot tub are very warm. Dinner was taken in the a la carte restaurant as so few were on half board which was a surprise and was top notch. Lift from ski room to street with ski bus stops to Hintertux or Penken/Ahorn opposite.

We were a family with two teenage daughters on a Christmas ski break. I booked online and communicated a couple of times before we arrived via e mail - the hotel were quick and very accommodating with my requests.
We arrived and were checked in by a lovely French lady who gave us all the info we needed and quickly explained where to park our car free of charge for the duration of our stay.
The hotel is typically Austrian inside with a cosy bar area that serves great hot chocolates!
The rooms were a little old fashioned but we wanted for nothing - the beds were really comfy, we had English TV, cosy robes and slippers and they were very clean and warm.
We used the pool every day and it was amazing to relax on the roof and was never too crowded.
We had a gluwein when we returned from skiing in the outdoor bar area every day and ate in the restaurant a few times - food and drinks were great and not overpriced.
Breakfast was plentiful and fresh every day and they was lots of choice.
Every single member of staff we encountered was so lovely, helpful and happy.
We would definitely choose to stay here again but ask for a room away from the front of the hotel if you wake easily as people walking home late at night are noisy - not the hotels fault at all.
Great hotel in a perfect location with shops, ski rental, restaurants and the gondola to the pistes on the doorstep.

Room tip: Side or back of hotel to avoid the noise of late night revellers

Longer report.

We were on a winter walking holiday, as a couple. These items are listed in the order of importance to us.

Both our room and the hotel generally were cleaned to a very high standard, and could not be faulted. The presence of a hand gel dispenser at the entrance to the breakfast room tells a lot about the approach to cleanliness at this hotel.

Service from the staff.
Everyone was most helpful at all times, and regularly checked as to whether there was any assistance they could provide. When information was needed about local transport and upcoming events, the reception staff went to great trouble to sort out the details needed and offer advice. The lady manager/ proprietor was around in the hotel all today, checking not only that the guests had all they needed but also attending to a host another details as well. She was always present at and watching the service during the evening meals. The remainder of the staff clearly took her lead. The lady who manages the breakfast room in the morning not only checked all the food required was available (hot food is prepared to order as you may need) but also provided all the advice that we needed on where to go and what to see. If any follow-up information was required she made sure that we received it and she enquired the following day as to whether all had gone well.

The spread of available food at breakfast was super. Juicing machines were available that produced not only freshly squeezed oranges but other combinations of fruit and vegetables well. We were on half-board terms and had an excellent five-course meal each the evening, with ample portions. The hotel restaurant also caters for non-residents, so the advice to get to the restaurant early in the evening to avoid the busy time that can come later is sound advice.

Leisure facilities.
The hotel has a gym, which looked very well equipped but which we didn't use. There are also two saunas, the textile sauna where users can remain modestly closed, and the Roman sauna which is more traditional. Adjacent to these two saunas is an enclosed relaxation area with glass walls and ceilings giving the panoramic view of the mountains. The indoor heated swimming pool extends on to the roof top outside to give a super view of the mountains (and yes, it is warm enough even in mid-winter).

The hotel is centrally situated close to the principal crossroads in the village. You may read in another Trip Advisor reports the outside noise levels can be a problem in Mayrhofen. The bells on the village church are rung at some rather unusual times, but this hotel is sufficiently far from the church (about 5 minutes walk) that the bells do not cause a problem, even if you have the double glazed window open. The front of the hotel faces onto one the principal roads, and the noise created by revellers returning to their lodgings in the early hours of the morning might be a problem. Double glazing cuts out the noise but if you like to sleep with windows open it is worth asking for a room does not front onto the main road.

Our room
We travelled on a package holiday, but were given the option at time of booking to pay a modest surcharge to buy a premium room. What we got was a room that happily accommodated the two 3-seater settees and an armchair together with tables. We considered the smallish charge for a larger room to be money well spent. The room had a balcony, but situated on the first floor of a hotel in the middle of the village the view was inevitably restricted by adjacent buildings. It would have been useful, however, had we been smokers. Austria has now joined the group of countries where smoking is banned inside hotels, cafes and so on.

So, a Hotel that we would recommend unreservedly, and to which we would happily go again.

Room tip: Rooms away from the front street are quieter

This is a hard review to write as there are so many positives about Manni’s SportHotel, but then with the negatives that do impact your holiday it is hard to score our stay that will help other travellers, so I have had to give this 3 stars as average but before I go on, I would stay here again.

The hotel is on the Main Street and only a 2 minute walk to the main gondola, and has easy access to all the restaurants and bars, plus shops, and right next door is a supermarket for all your snacks and drinks for your hotel room, so a very central location.

The hotel is a traditional building and very clean, in fact all of Mayrhofen is exceptionally clean, the rooms are basic even the superior room which we stayed in, our room over looked the Main Street which although beautiful views with a balcony for you to sit outside, it has a big issue when you can hear people in the street shouting and singing at 4am in the morning.

The room has a minibar fridge, so we took all the drinks out and stored them on the shelves and replaced with snacks and water from the supermarket, now be aware the still bottle water in Mayrhofen in Hotels, Restaurants and Bars is very expensive and costs €5.20 for 500ml bottle when you can buy 6 x 500ml bottles from the supermarket next door for €2.49, so stock up there.

The hotel has a good size heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool and outside jacuzzi which is amazing after a long day on the mountain, it also has a steam room and sauna which are exceptionally clean, you get slippers, towels and bath-rope included in your room, so a great touch to enjoy the facilities. It is awesome to enjoy a rooftop heated pool while it is snowing, very enjoyable.

There is a small gym which we never used but again very clean and well kept.

The basement has an area for you to store your skis and snowboards, boots and equipment which is safe and heated. With access via a key card.

The staff can be somewhat off putting, most are welcoming and will say good morning and have a good day, but we had a few challenges which other people have commented on in reviews, but the biggest let down is the Wi-Fi, because it is totally rubbish, even when we discussed this with a manager and she reboot the router the speed was below 1Mg, and although a large hotel, if you go to the top of the mountain to Kaser Mandl the free Wi-Fi up in the mountain there is over 100Mb, so how a Hotel in central Mayrhofen has such poor internet is shocking.

You could not even open Facebook as it was that bad and even at 4am in the morning when most people would be sleeping and not using the internet the service barely got above 1Mb.

Luckily as we are from Scotland and still in the EU we could use our mobile data free which for Vodafone was over 60Mb.

So if you require Wi-Fi while in the hotel, Good Luck because it really is shockingly bad, and yes it did disrupt our holiday somewhat, but when dining in local restaurants they all have free Wi-Fi which is very fast.

The other negative is the cost of drinks, very expensive so use the supermarket for basic soft drinks and water. €5 for a bottle of water.

The breakfast was OK, good choice for a cold continental, but for a hot breakfast the choice was greasy bacon, some sort of sausage and scrambled egg only, and a hit or miss if you got any, so although our breakfast was included we went out and got a far better choice.

Lastly as it is an old building you can hear other people very clearly, kids shouting and babies crying so although we loved our holiday and would stay again in Manni’s SportHotel, I suggest you make sure you use your own mobile data for internet, stock up on water from the supermarket and bring ear plugs for sleeping

So due to this I can only award 3 stars as average, but maybe the owners will sort the internet out, and this is my opinion from our 7 nights and yes I would stay again as the hotel is very clean and very central to the gondola and restaurants and bars.

Quick suggestion on restaurants which I have also reviewed, try Ciao Italian which is left out of the hotel and on the corner, extremely good and well priced, very friendly staff and free Wi-Fi

Thank you
