We stayed in #401 and it's great! The pool is nicely cared for and kept clean As is the got tub. This unit is located at the end of Ali'i Drive so you are away from the hussle of the downtown and just get peace & quiet but you are close enough to still be able to run in. This unit is well cared for.

We absolutely loved our stay in #302. It was beautiful, and the view cannot be beat! We loved just sitting on the balcony and watching the surfers. You can watch sea turtles playing in the surf from the balcony. Listening to the ocean an night was beyond soothing. Certainly better than any sound machine we've ever used! The only way to be closer to the ocean was to actually be in it.

Janice and Robert had a booster seat and pack n' play at the condo. These were perfect for our 11 month old daughter. She really enjoyed herself, too! We spent a lot of time in the pool with her, which is gated and very private. The pool overlooks the ocean, as well.

The location was great. We liked having a peaceful, quiet atmosphere at the condo, but being so close to all of the restaurants. There were also several beaches within a very short driving distance, which was very convenient.

If we ever return to the Big Island, there is no doubt where we will be staying!

We went in Hawai for 2 weeks in july 2014 and have stayed in 5 different locations (all condos - Lahaina, Hana, Hilo, Kona and kihei) and I have to mention that this unit was the best condo unit we had on our vacation. It was the best by far and we would have stayed there longer.

Why we liked it so much: the location is wonderfull, the view is perfect, the unit is well derorated, the accessories included are all we need. We spent a lot of time in the morning and at the end of the afternoon on the balcony looking at the well talented surfers. If we return in Kona, it will be a no brainer.

My husband and I were lucky enough to visit Hawai'i Island for a week this past June. After much research, I decided the Banyan Tree was "the one". Our regular haunt, the Keauhou Outrigger, was sadly no more and we needed a new place to call home when we were in Paradise.

I checked out many reviews both on Tripadvisor and VRBO and felt this unit was a good choice. I was right.

The unit was incredibly stocked with more, seriously, cookware and dishes than we have at home. The renovated kitchen was perfect, the bed comfortable and the sitting area lent itself to just hanging and listening to the waves. There were extras of everything and inside the front closet was every conceivable beach item you could want. Truly, we lacked for nothing.

The Banyan Tree is very close to shopping and restaurants but because of the amazing ocean front location, we spent a lot of time in the room. It was very comfortable and so relaxing just watching the waves, the surfers, the turtles. I'm sure it's spectacular during whale season.

I do agree that the front bedroom, which we didn't use, does have the street noise and the window for air opens right out into a common area. Others have mentioned the lanai isn't the biggest but for the two of us it was fine.

It was easy to get to, easy to park, there is an elevator but taking the stairs is great exercise, we didn't use the pool or BBQ but others did. There is also a surprisingly well stocked and not outrageously expensive (for Hawai'i) small market right across the street.

We didn't interact much with the owners but from reading other reviews and the in room guest book, they are a wealth of information and very helpful. We knew the area well and didn't have any questions or need advice this time.

I wouldn't hesitate to rent from Bob and Ronda again.

Very handy to to downtown, yet easy to get out of town. It was great to be able to sit on the balcony and have our morning coffee while watching surfers or sea turtles. Sunsets were lovely to see also. And it's not far down the highway to the best coffee in the world. Very clean 2 bedroom apartment. We stayed for a week and it was a perfect base from which to go exploring all over the island. No noise from neighbors, just wind and waves and rustling palms.
