Nice photo stop but parking and beach space can be an issue. It is very pretty and great waves. There are better beach day spots up the road.

This is a great beach with a ton of stuff going on. We went on a Saturday with our kids and chose the beach due to the easy access to the water and life guards on duty. Snorkelling was great and the local BBQ pit was really cool. It was awesome to see local families cooking up some local delicacies right at the park. Parking I would say was the only bad thing about the place as it is very crammed and people are very rude when you are driving circles looking for a spot. Park on the shoulder if you can.

Good for sun bathing and some swimming and snorkeling, but when the waves take the sand out, it's pretty hard to walk on the rocks and boulders. It's quite a phenomenon though.

Located right along Ali’i Drive, this is one of the more popular beaches in the Kona area... it’s not very large (and can get quite crowded at times :)... there’s a lifeguard onsite here as well. There can be quite a shore break, which body surfing folks avidly seek out during the right conditions. As of January 2018, the parking lot has been closed, and so look for open spots along the road if you’re visiting the Magic Sands... enjoy!

Just before noon, this little in - city beach was packed. Not near enough room to enjoy yourself. We were lucky to find a parking spot across the street, but had to contend with traffic. We moved our party further up the coast, where we could spread out for sun and fun (Hapuna).
