Gated group of condos some right at the water’s edge with pool on site.
I believe they are all individually owned so probably decoration can vary - the one we had (2-203, booked via Aloha Condos) was smart, very well furnished, clean and well equipped.
Loved the large lanai for outside meals overlooking the ocean and stretching across the main sitting room and master bedroom. There was a wifi box but couldn’t connect.

No sea swimming here the coast is black, very sharp, volcanic rock but there is a good sized pool if you don’t want to find a beach – and there are not that many close.

The site is well run, very quiet and peaceful at night apart from the sound of the sea!
BBQ area is small but seems sufficient.
Each condo has their own parking space with extras designated for guests.
Nearest supermarket we could find was Safeway about 10-15 mins drive.

Like: smart condo. Dislike: no beach

We recently stayed with another couple in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo for a week. The condo was on the first floor and we did have a heavy walker in the condo above us but wouldn't have traded for the fabulous convenience of being able to walk over to the water right from the lanai. The resort is very well maintained - landscaping is beautiful, the pool is nice (although we never used it) and the barbeque area was quite handy. It was easy to get in and out of the coded gate and we always were able to find parking - we had two cars so had to use a visitor spot. It was great to be away from Kona town but yet not so far away that it was a problem to go for a quick lunch. We loved being so close to a great snorkel beach (about 0.5 miles) and a beautiful sand beach for bogey boarding. The very only complaint I would have about this place is even though the is a shopping center nearby, the grocery store there is not very good. We always used the Safeway on Henry. But this is no fault of the resort. Loved it, would go back again and again!

We loved everything about the Surf & Racquet Club. We stayed in condo 1-203, which was spacious, clean and extremely well-stocked. Beautiful ocean view, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the surf. The location is great: close to Kona dining and shops but far enough away from the traffic and hubbub. Pop in to the market just up the street and get a bottle of wine to enjoy on the large lanai.

We stayed in townhome 187 in December and found it to be a great home base for the last part of our Hawaiian vacation. The unit was spacious, updated, clean and comfortable. Sunset views were astounding. Access to the property and unit was easy. Loved pizza at Bianellis and burgers at Annie's Island Fresh Burgers. Guys at Kona Brothers outfitted us with stand-up paddle boards and recommended a great local beach. Also enjoyed tour and coffee from Greenwell Farms south of the resort.

We stayed at condo 5-201 for 8 days beginning the end of December. Our experience could not have been better. The condo was absolutely beautiful and well-maintained! The kitchen was big with upscale appliances and all necessary small appliances/utensils. It had granite counter-tops and flagstone floor. The master bedroom and living room were comfortable and attractively furnished. But the best part was the large lanai overlooking the rock and ocean. We ate our meals outside to enjoy the warmth, fresh breezes, birds and surf. It was the best place to view the awe-inspiring Kona sunsets. The pool was pleasant although a little small considering the size of the complex. The location was convenient and within walking to a shopping center with restaurants, groceries and other shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and wouldn't hesitate to go back. We highly recommend this location and condo.
