+5 more stars. What an amazing dive. The crew MikeyB Josh & Leio (sorry if i spelt that wrong) were equally as excited & passionate about manta rays as the rest of us on the tour. They were informative, professional & tons of fun. Many bad jokes & orange tricks were performed ;)
At the site there are a bunch of other groups/boats around the “campfire” aka pod of lights and all you can hope for is that the manta rays decide to come hang & munch on some plankton. We got to see three different rays, of course we hoped for more, but it was still an incredible experience. Would highly recommend using BID we got our rentals with them quick & affordable. The trip went smoothly & captain MikeyB cared about all passengers well-being. Thanks guys

Becca and Leao were awesome. Very engaging, funny and supportive. We left on time from the launch and had a group of 10. We had 4 in our party. It was very safe and smooth getting to the campfire. Hot chocolate and cookies were a plus. The Manta education was funny as well. This is a must do when you come to Kona.

Amazing experience! The mantas came right underneath us and did barrel roll after barrel roll. They were right there--so close that we could see up their gill slits! I have been diving/snorkeling in Belize, Cozumel, Galapogas, Puerto Rico. This is a truly unique experience. My granddaughters ages 10-16 loved it--the highlight of our trip.

Big Island Divers did a great, professional job. Don't let the volcano clear across the island interfere with your trip to the Big Island. The only thing that it messed up for us was--of course--the visit to the Volcano National Park.

Aloha flyballchase,

Thanks so much for the great review, and for bringing your family out with us to see Kona's Manta Rays! It is truly a unique, world-class experience, as you conveyed in your review.

Thanks also for letting everyone know whats up with the volcano. The only thing that has been disruptive in Kona is the NEWS about the volcano... the eruption itself is nearly 100 miles away. Our hearts (and lots of food and supplies) go out to those communities affected on the Eastern tip of our island. Getting the word out that it is still sunny, warm, and beautiful helps to keep our island economy strong, which in itself aids recovery efforts. Mahalo!

Honestly just do it. Fun/informative crew. Wish we had been certified for diving as there were so many manta rays the night we went. A highlight of the trip.
