Our meal was disappointing. We selected this restaurant based on the reviews we had read on Trip Advisor and in our guidebook. We waited for 30 minutes for our water and sake and watched while other tables received their food. Chefs special sashimi appetizer was underwhelming with what seemed to be "tough" yellowtail tuna slices topped with past their prime jalapeños and wilted cilantro. The Ponzu sauce was tasty however. Sunonomo salad featured cooked shrimp, raw octopus and squid but needed more cucumber to complement the seafood. The ikura sushi (salmon roe) tasted less than fresh. Caterpillar roll was meh and light on eel. Service improved once they decided to bring us the food and sake we had ordered. I wouldn't say this was bad sushi. Just nothing out of the ordinary and certainly no better than some of the top spots in our town on the mainland. So to summarize, poor service at the start, nothing special sushi and a high price tag. Disappointing is the word.
