Lovely

Fastest elevator ever. Nice balcony. Spacious room. Friendly and helpful staff. Welcome drink provided. Beautiful historical pictures. Our tour company purchased breakfast buffet and it was fabulous. Of course it is more expensive than home…it is Hawaii

Two days at this hotel was the best part of our 10 day trip.

This Marriott is REALLY NICE. It is clean, attractive, and new-feeling, and the service was great. The location is right in the middle of the tourist area with restaurants and shops just steps away, and it is literally on the beach with a watersport rental shack on site. We booked the Marriott because our flights were cancelled, and we had to stay two extra days. Previously, we had stayed up the road at a "resort" that was awful. The Marriott was a breath of fresh air. I wish I had booked our whole trip there. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, and they accommodated our need to kill time on site until a 10 pm flight. The pool was not crowded, and the food was good. The coffee was free and GOOD, unlike at the other "resort" where it tasted like dirt. Pool towels and chairs were included as was snorkel gear, unlike places that nickel and dime you for everything. They gave us four free drinks, a welcome gift, and a Christmas gift. We enjoyed the luau as well. I really couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Marriott! I will be joining your Bonvoy rewards program ASAP.

Room tip: Our second floor room lanai faced the parking lot. The room was quiet and comfortable and our lanai was sunny and private.

Great place but service could be improved

This place is modern and has the Hawaiian traditional theme and beautiful decor. We were ok with the room looking a little older.

The room had a partial view of the ocean, large TV and nice bathroom.

The bad service aspect comes from the room smelling like musk or mildew when you walk in. The scent was over powering and when I called they just sent the house keeping up to spray something on the floor by the entrance of the room.

Every time we came back to the room we smelt it and this took away from the room and enjoying the hotel stay.

Clean, comfortable, convenient

Overall our stay here was good. The rooms were clean and staff was friendly. The bathrooms are very small but nice. House keeping was supposed to be every 3 days. Our room didn’t get cleaned after the 3rd day and our trash was overflowing. Staff was very friendly when we asked for the room to be cleaned and they comped a breakfast for the trouble. Hotel is in a fantastic location that is close to all the bars and restaurants.

Well placed for Kona shopping and nice little beach

Slightly old fashioned now but comfortable and quiet with good buffet breakfast in an open air setting. Beach can get a little busy but is sandy and shallow water. They have created a Hawaiian sacred platform which is a nice touch and lots of cultural artefacts and information within the hotel. Shops and a spa on site and just a few minutes from the shops and restaurants in Kona.
